I've been waiting to see some progress on this, looking good. I'd suggest using a red block though instead of the sandstone like redstone,wool, or clay.

The sandstone has a slab form though, and it turns into that when there's weight on it.
If I use a texture pack, it would be cool to have decreasing snow slabs, so it looks like its really being pushed down.
That would be cool, could use the portal gun bow model posted on here too.
Also will you be doing gels? Would be neat to use your stuff as a base for many custom portal maps.

That's the plan! Currently, the stuff I'm ready to start is:
-Gels
-Excursion Funnels
-Co-op portals
I want to do these, but am not sure how yet:
-Portal momentum
-Lasers
-Faster, straighter way of shooting portals
I'm sure lasers are possible with armor stand and item detection with particle stuff. I don't think the portal momentum is possible but if you can figure it out id be amazed.

why not do red wool block and carpet.
