Do you plan on using bows in the final version? I figure using wubbis raycast system to project portals without the arc similarly to the original game would be cleaner.

I did want to use Wubbi's system in the final version, as it is an awesome concept.
Unfortunately, it's really heavy on the world and slows down response time greatly to have all those command blocks being powered every tick.
Combined with the mound of commands my system uses, it would be pretty unplayable. Until someone can make a more efficient method, it's bows for now.
Any alternative ideas are welcome, as I don't enjoy bows any more than the next guy.
It would be awesome if somone could find out a way to spawn a snowball or fire charge when punching with a certain item because that way you could hold a diamond or gold horse armour as the portal gun it would spawn a portal where the snowball or whatever hits. But if it's only able to use bows I think nanorex did a great job, especially since you dont have 2 bows in your inventory with it.
Looks great! Is it possible using just command blocks to shoot in a straight line? Maybe give the arrow a ridiculously high velocity? I bet I would get frustrated trying to hit the correct block with a normal bow.

Cool! Portal is so popular now, I mean, Little Big Planet 3 was released and everyone including myself is making portal guns and your making portal on Minecraft

maybe rather use a carpet as the height of a carpet kinda reminds of a light brigde. But some particle effects would also be nice.

Placing carpet updates the carpets around it. If they are floating, they are destroyed :(

It's a bit tricky to rotate carpets 90 degrees though when you aim the bridge up/down.
