That will do nothing, as it's not a bug.

This is intended behaviour. The code explicitly checks if the user is in creative mode and then does not allow its use if that is the case.
I've yet to see an explanation for why the developers want it to work that way, but the code makes it pretty clear that Ender Pearls cannot be used in creative.
