Why not use a suspended armor stand as a button floating above the setup as a confirm button? You could make it invisible and give it a crating bench to hold, so the player just sees a crating bench floating above the setup and can punch it to confirm.

Nice job! Until you put a stick in the recipe ;) Does it rebuild the ground it replaced when it's done? Can you remove it without crafting anything (eg, cancel the crafting session)? Does it work anywhere in the world? I'm just curious :D

Haha, some of the commands have preparations for stuff like that, but neither of those work fully. It does save the ground beneath it beforehand and does prevent you from starting two "sessions", but it's really crappy as a practical addition to a world currently.
(in fact, there arent any implemented recipes! That button actually had a command block right below it to give me a saddle!)

The armorstands are a bit off center, and how would you use the top middle slot? Other than that, looks good.

Yeah, it's unfortunate the armor stands summon relative to the item drop, not the blocks.
The top slot still works independent of the button, and is still pretty easy to access.

mc_labs did something for that as well, he used summoned item frames above it since they lock to a block, then execute at the item frame.
