Same man.The silver lining to this is that it looks like we'll be getting KH more frequently and wont have to wait 5 years in between releases.Let's just hope that they're not all gacha mobile crap.

My theory is to fill the gaps while waiting for Nomura headed new projects theyโll get the new B teams (or at least one of them) to remake and/or remaster games as well as porting them. Days and uX in particular need this so let me hope lol

Making it a mobile game already spoils the ending. Xehanort turns to the dark from dealing with gacha mechanics

He was just going on a nice trip around the worlds so he downloaded a few games. At first he thought he'd try some of the Classic Kingdom ports but when he got bored, he tried a new gacha title, after all it didn't seem so bad, it was free after all...
....eventually he's spending Munny he doesn't have and when he can't get a Re:Fund, the darkness overcomes him.

I just hope the game will be less pay to win than KHUX. That game was horrible in the sense that new overpowering medals would drop every 2-3 weeks.

KHuX is legit trash and feel bad to remember it's part of the series.
I recall early on you'd basically need to spend over 350$ worth of gems (no way you had that at the time as they weren't given generously) to max fuse a medal. Which would be obsolete by end of the month (if you were lucky.)
Then it just got worse when they added PvP and weekly purchase to be able to get mercy on banners...

I don't find KHUX bad for spending money. I've never spent any money on it and I have been able to get through the story mode just fine. (That's the main mode that I cared about) You get so many gems from going through the story to get packs and even one of those breaks the difficulty of story mode. I have played other mobile games that have a clear paywall in the main story mode where you can't continue unless you spend money. KHUX wasn't like that.
Now if you are talking about trying to place in the top of the coliseum and stuff like that, that's a different story. That's where you need to spend money if you want to crack it. But I just find that as bonus side stuff to get some extra stuff as I wait for more story to release.

358/2, and re:coded are fine, since you just buy the game and then have the game and then you can play the game. That is not true of UX, which is why it is a shitty way to handle the plot.

Where have we been told it's a gacha game? It may very well but just because the announcement said theres in app purchases? It could just be in game items or currency for a rpg on mobile, nobody knows yet
Regardless this is about relevant story in a side game, which is probably about Xehanort, eraqus and their other pupils, gacha or not I'm overly excited to see where it goes

I've wanted a Xehanort prequel for so long, but I've never been able to stick with a mobile game... my feelings reversed so quickly in the span of time between seeing the announcement and seeing the platforms.

Might be a controversial stance but I don't really mind. Not that I'm a big fan of mobile games, but I'm just fully over Xehanort stuff now. KH3 wrapped it all up as well as it could be. So if any new KH project was gonna be a mobile game, I'm fine with it being the one still hung up on Xehanort.
Plus we know there are two, potentially three, KH games in the pipeline as well.

Yeah, honestly if this means they will finally kill KHUX and give us a non-gatcha version of the story, maybe a paid game or even just another movie, I'm fine with it. This Xehanort prequel seems like it's going to be less important to the overal lore (though, realistically, I'm probably being overly optimistic here lol).

Nomura confirmed they have established 2 new KH teams and we'll be seeing a game from one of them surprisingly soon. The UX team has also been working on a Xehanort prequel game for mobile, which will launch in the spring. Osaka Team has also already moved on to their next project.

Square announced an upcoming mobile game called "Project Xehanort" and released some cool art based on the image of Sora sitting on the throne, but instead it's a very young Xehanort and a young Eraqus next to him along with other characters with their faces hidden.They also said there are going to be more KH games coming very soon as well.

I mean, i'm not against the idea of mobile games, if the Xehanort game is something different from a gacha game and will actually be decent then i'm all for it.But due to how uccessful KHUX has been i'm scared that the Xehanort game will end up being another gacha game.But, we'll just have to wait and see.

On the bright side, coded was originally a mobile game too, and while the story is trash, the gameplay turned out pretty decent. I'm not super hopeful, but I'll at least reserve judgement till the game comes out.

Even if it is a gacha game, it could still be decent. KHuX is a garbage fire, but I've not only seen gacha games in general be fun and F2P friendly, but even specifially gacha games by Square Enix. Heavenstrike Rivals was one such Square Enix gacha game before they shut down the servers.

They could suprise us with Project Xehanort, i am willing to hold out hope for an actual decent mobile KH game about one of the greatest villains of all time.But Japan absolutely adore Gacha games and that has me scared.But Nomura is unpredictable, so we'll just have to wait and see.

We don't even have any info on the game yet. Let's wait to see if it's just a straight up KH game on mobile versus a gatcha style money sink first before we start complaining. Based on the very limited scope of the game, it seems to me like it would be the former versus the latter.
