I'm pretty sure it's Sora using the reality shifts from DDD. They're even activated in similar ways, attacking a specific enemy after a marker appears.
Remember how the Ice Titan was an endgame boss in KH1 and now it has to team up withe the Magma and Tornado Titans to count as a boss.

I wish we got an in-universe explanation for the Attractions. It could've even been a simple throwaway line by Yen Sid, saying how the new clothes give him these powers (even though they were available before the wardrobe change)

iirc he did say something like "just as before, these clothes have new powers as well" but wasnt specific
