Having my grandmother ask me about porn comments wasn't very fun. The only thing I really regret is having to see first hand how willing some "journalists" are to trash a person just for web traffic. I get recognized almost every day. One of the weirdest times was at my local Target.

I was buying a new printer to print out some contracts 2 days after the debate. It was the first time I had been out of the house for anything but an interview. I was looking for a cable when an employee walked behind me and asked if I needed help. I said, "no thanks, found it."

He recognized my voice and freaked out. He started shaking and asked for a picture. He asked why I was there and I told him about the printer. The he says, "no, I mean why this store?" I explained that I lived like a mile away and I came into the store like 3 times a week.

He freaks again and asks, "Oh my God, why didn't I notice you before?" I told him that he had been my cashier at least a dozen times before, and that the only reason he didn't notice was that there was no reason for him to. I wasn't famous then.

I haven't really seen eye to eye with the president so far, but there are positives. The main one is that a complete political outsider managed to win from out of nowhere. The establishment seemed so entrenched I would have thought it was impossible.

I haven't really changed a thing. I have not made any comments on any NSFW subs since then, but it's not like I did that a lot before. I made something like 4 comments on those subs in 18 months before, and they were intended as jokes.

Now for the joke.

Three guys are waiting for a tee time. The course is busy so the manager asks if they would mind playing a foursome with a guy who was alone with an 8:00 tee time. They all agree.

"What if she's on her back?" They ask.

I still feel very passionate about helping the homeless. This time of the year is very tough for them, and for the charities that help them. Spring storms can be very dangerous if you have no way to get shelter, and a brutal summer is around the corner.

There are no real potential jobs. Coal jobs are lost to automation, not regulation. Coal production in the US is still near the all time high, which was set in 2009 according to the Energy Information Administration.

Rolling back regulations in most cases only results in more profit for the companies, more harm to the environment, and no additional jobs created. In fact, the stream protection rule was expected to create over 100 jobs in the compliance sector of the industry.

Trump like many other politicians has successfully convinced miners that the jobs of their fathers and grandfathers can come back. They can't and they won't. These lies have devastated communities by preventing them from moving on to new industries. They are held down in poverty by empty promises of it getting better soon.

The one that we raised the most for was the St Patrick Center for the homeless in St Louis. It's a housing first initiative meaning that they get the homeless into stable housing and then start job training / drug counseling, or whatever they need. It's proven to work better than dangling housing like a carrot on a stick.

Another big one was Greater St Louis Honor Flight. Honor Flight takes war veterans on an emotional day trip to Washington DC to visit their war memorials. It's a very moving experience for all involved.

I've also done smaller fundraisers and events for many others including 3 Little Birds for Life, the Junior Service Club, and the Pujols Family Foundation. I pretty much try to never say no to a charity. I don't really understand why people show up to these events to meet me, but they often do so I'm happy to do it for the charities.

At least once every time I'm out in a crowd.

When my son was 4 we took him in for a routine physical. The doctor took some blood for a test, no big deal. We leave the office and go out for lunch then to the park. We get home to find a half dozen messages waiting. The doctor is freaking out because the blood test shows that my son is severely anemic. We rush back to the doctor, he is close to ordering a transfusion.

Hearing the doctor's fear in those messages and realizing that our son had a serious health issue was terrifying. Fortunately he's fine now. He had iron deficiency anemia, which can usually be corrected through diet.

I didn't want to wake up my parents and grandparents so I just turned on the tree and sat in my favorite chair next to it. I watched a bunch of Christmas cartoons until they finally got up on their own a few hours later. It was so quiet and peaceful, which was a rare treat in a house of 7 people.

This whole situation could have been avoided if Comey had stepped down or been fired months ago like he probably should have.

We haven't seen a lot of economic policy come out yet as Trump focuses more on social issues. What we have seen is pretty disappointing. There has been little talk of any real middle class tax relief, focusing instead on tax cuts for the rich through the Healthcare bill and the new tax reform plan. The tax plan is not yet final, so there's time for it to be changed.

The cuts via the healthcare bill however seem huge and unnecessary. We've seen in the past multiple times that trickle down economic policy does not work, especially in uncertain economic conditions. The people with the money tend to hold onto it more when given more if things are not looking great for the overall economy.

The budget that was presented made a lot of really deep cuts that angered a lot of people, but if we're going to cut the deficit and reduce the national debt I'm afraid there's no way around that. The budget as it stands will never get through Congress anyway, especially with the fracturing in the Republican party hat's currently going on.

I think it's terrible and an independent investigation is warranted.

I frankly don't care about whether Clinton would have been better. That ship has sailed. We need to deal with what we have.

I can't put Breath of the Wild down right now. I'm really looking forward to Shadow of War.

Almost anything. Radiohead is my favorite band. I listen to rock, pop, rap, R&B, bluegrass, pretty much anything.

I'm not really that into metal. Metallica is about as heavy as I'll go. I'm also not a big fan of twangy country.

It helps to have a good support structure. None of us can do it alone. Few of us actually are alone. Unfortunately a lot of people feel alone. If that's you, reach out when times are tough. There's kindness to be found in unexpected places sometimes. If nothing else, know that I'm rooting for you when things look their worst.

Other than that all I have are the same empty platitudes as everyone else. "There's always a silver lining" type crap.
