Our hero, El Hopaness (Eng: 'The Hoppiness) is an esteemed bull fighter, famous for using his unorthodox pogo-stick methods to exhaust the bull instead of outright killing it.
But when he arrives in Rom(e), he is faced with his greatest challenge yet: A bull that has inadvertently been stamina training its whole life from prancing around in its field trying to escape from a particularly irritating Tic(k).
Can El Hopaness exhaust the Rom Tic bull before it gores him??
This is the line I will casually say to my future child if they or a friend ever happen to get some bad hand tattoo.
Or any bad tattoo anywhere. Or a tattoo in general.
I wonder if I could get high-contrast fingerprints tattooed on so that I could use fingerprint sensors year round. That would actually be really convenient, and I think it would qualify as a medical tattoo.

Yup. It's nobody's business but your own where you get a tattoo, and what it displays. Critiquing on the motive should be out of bounds. But when it's just badly done, it legitimately sucks. The "S" are so ugly and dodgy it's ridiculous. This alone makes it a shitty tattoo.

I have a full sleeve that is music related + 10 other music related tattoos and a handful of other non-music related tattoos - mostly original ESPECIALLY my sleeve. music is my passion, and the music related tattoos I do have are for bands that changed me/my life in a significant way. I do have 1 band logo tattoo, for Thursday. yes, it is cliche, but that band meant more to me than any other band at the time. they still mean a lot to me.
I don't think they are tacky at all, unless someone is just getting it to "be cool" which is the wrong reason to get a tattoo imo.
if that's what they want on their body, why judge against someones tattoo? I don't see how it is tacky.

I respect your opinion, and I'm not trying to change it, but I don't think it's tacky. I think it is cliche and I wish I had done a more original idea relating to their lyrics of something, but not necessarily tacky. To be fair, it was my first tattoo and I do regret not making it more original.
Everyone in Thursday has the Thursday Dove tattooed on them, and half also have their dumb 2nd logo spiral thing. is that tacky of them? They have been friends of mine for years. guess I'm tacky.

our last goodbyeee. My friend has a full sleeve related to Thursday. The dove is incorporated but not prominent. It has the New Jersey Turnpike, with "Stay True" graffitied in it, a skyline burning, and some other things. it is beautiful even if you don't know anything about the band.
Geoffy has been tweeting a bunch about a reunion... hope it comes true. that would be wonderful.

I'm personally opposed to any body modifications myself because of my career choice but hey if that's your thing then go for it. My hair dresser is all covered up with the big ear gauges and he seems to do well enough.
my ears are a tiny bit gauged. I work a pretty stable job at Amazon Web Services and they don't mind. my boss and I were actually competing for who could finish their sleeve first. but I just sit at a computer all day not seeing any actual customers, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
The only tattoos I 100000% regret are lightsabers I had done on the inside of my middle fingers. They are dumb and I hate them and they were a mistake.

I had an ex who actually ended up getting talked out of getting that done on her pinky by a tattoo artist. Pretty classy move imo.
I fucking hate them, and I always say "Stay Classy Mj" because I'm not exactly the classiest anyways :p
My sabers are mostly faded at this point, but I have to make flight attendant finger points when around professionals. I'd never get them touched up, but my artist also refuses to redo them. I HATE THEM. even though Star Wars is life.
I totally agree but the black flag bars are almost an exception imo, they're practically a symbol of punk rock, so many other bands have copied the design too.

No, an eggcorn is a mis-spelling/mispronunciation caused by re-analysing the word, that then becomes entrenched. This was a one-off, with no (I presume) re-analysis.

That was a genuine comment. I said something that was wrong and someone corrected me, so I saw my mistake and acknowledged it. Furthermore, given the many shows about tattoos that you can find it's not hard to imagine almost anyone has seen a stencil being applied. Even if that weren't the case, I actually got a tattoo a couple weeks ago, so I do know what a stencil looks like :).

Its blueish because the ink "blows out" past the line. This gives it a bluish look under the skin next to lines.

My thoughts exactly. I know of no case of successful palm tattoos, they wear off very very fast, if they heal well at all.
If you go to an artist that specializes in fingers/hands, it will hold up for years. Touch ups will be necessary but if the work is done properly it won't be as frequent.

Not really how hand tattooing works, especially palm tattoos and inner hand tattoos. Fingertips don't take ink well and would probably be too excruciating to sit through. It wasn't a design failure by the artist.
I was just thinking about how bad it hurts when I'm sewing and prick my finger, I can't imagine a tattoo on them.

I don't have any hand/finger/palm tattoos myself, but I have a few friends who do and it's apparently exactly as painful as you'd imagine and wears quickly. I feel like this thread, though, is being filled with comments from people who don't have any context for inner-hand tattoos - generally the people who have them do not regret them, and see the pain/fading/undesirability of the people who don't get it as part of life and change.
It always irks me to see people dogpiling on stuff like this and calling it a poor life choice or artistic mistake - aside from the placement (which you probably wouldn't think of being "fine" unless you thought of it from a tattooist or tattooed person's standpoint) is pretty well-done.

I see he was trying to keep each letter within each little knuckle space. You'd think that you'd at least have a good look at it first, or maybe even write it on there to see it finished before you go tattoo it on your fucking hands!!!!
They do it this way because tattooing on the tip of the finger has a very high chance of falling out/not healing correctly or wearing off much quicker. The placement is technically correct and the lines are solid and clean especially for fingers so you can tell the artist is good and experienced. But no one wants to hear that on this sub.

I think any experienced artist would have noticed that the letters are in the wrong place.
Except they're not. The first word is along the first row of creases in the finger and the second word is along the second row, it's the way their fingers are stretched out that makes it appear that way, if they were to curl their fingers it would be legible straight across.

I think you're all looking at it wrong. It looks like he couldn't ink the under-knuckle so they had to ink the soft spots on his fingers.
I mean it's a stupid tattoo to begin with, but design is the least of its problems.

You know... they say tattoos have become so ubiquitous that they've lost their negative stigma of being something only criminals/outlaws/lowlifes/dirtbags would have. But they've really just gained a whole new stigma of being idiotic.

Actually it's pretty shitty to have tattoos on your palms because the constant friction blurs the tattoo very fast.. A friend of mine tattoed "Shh..." On his index finger just like Rihanna because he's a very big fan of her and in 2 months it was unreadable.
This is why I waited two years to get my tattoo. Gives time to fully think through the consequences of the design, it allows you to see if you want something like that on your body for the rest of your life, and you can mock it up to see what you think.
When you don't take time to think it through then this happens.
Or it still happens because you are an idiot.

Yup. It's nobody's business but your own where you get a tattoo, and what it displays. Critiquing on the motive should be out of bounds. But when it's just badly done, it legitimately sucks. The "S" are so ugly and dodgy it's ridiculous. This alone makes it a shitty tattoo.

I have a full sleeve that is music related + 10 other music related tattoos and a handful of other non-music related tattoos - mostly original ESPECIALLY my sleeve. music is my passion, and the music related tattoos I do have are for bands that changed me/my life in a significant way. I do have 1 band logo tattoo, for Thursday. yes, it is cliche, but that band meant more to me than any other band at the time. they still mean a lot to me. I don't think they are tacky at all, unless someone is just getting it to "be cool" which is the wrong reason to get a tattoo imo. if that's what they want on their body, why judge against someones tattoo? I don't see how it is tacky.

I respect your opinion, and I'm not trying to change it, but I don't think it's tacky. I think it is cliche and I wish I had done a more original idea relating to their lyrics of something, but not necessarily tacky. To be fair, it was my first tattoo and I do regret not making it more original.

our last goodbyeee. My friend has a full sleeve related to Thursday. The dove is incorporated but not prominent. It has the New Jersey Turnpike, with "Stay True" graffitied in it, a skyline burning, and some other things. it is beautiful even if you don't know anything about the band.

my ears are a tiny bit gauged. I work a pretty stable job at Amazon Web Services and they don't mind. my boss and I were actually competing for who could finish their sleeve first. but I just sit at a computer all day not seeing any actual customers, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
The only tattoos I 100000% regret are lightsabers I had done on the inside of my middle fingers. They are dumb and I hate them and they were a mistake.

That was a genuine comment. I said something that was wrong and someone corrected me, so I saw my mistake and acknowledged it. Furthermore, given the many shows about tattoos that you can find it's not hard to imagine almost anyone has seen a stencil being applied. Even if that weren't the case, I actually got a tattoo a couple weeks ago, so I do know what a stencil looks like :).

Not really how hand tattooing works, especially palm tattoos and inner hand tattoos. Fingertips don't take ink well and would probably be too excruciating to sit through. It wasn't a design failure by the artist.

I don't have any hand/finger/palm tattoos myself, but I have a few friends who do and it's apparently exactly as painful as you'd imagine and wears quickly. I feel like this thread, though, is being filled with comments from people who don't have any context for inner-hand tattoos - generally the people who have them do not regret them, and see the pain/fading/undesirability of the people who don't get it as part of life and change.
It always irks me to see people dogpiling on stuff like this and calling it a poor life choice or artistic mistake - aside from the placement (which you probably wouldn't think of being "fine" unless you thought of it from a tattooist or tattooed person's standpoint) is pretty well-done.

They do it this way because tattooing on the tip of the finger has a very high chance of falling out/not healing correctly or wearing off much quicker. The placement is technically correct and the lines are solid and clean especially for fingers so you can tell the artist is good and experienced. But no one wants to hear that on this sub.

Except they're not. The first word is along the first row of creases in the finger and the second word is along the second row, it's the way their fingers are stretched out that makes it appear that way, if they were to curl their fingers it would be legible straight across.

Actually it's pretty shitty to have tattoos on your palms because the constant friction blurs the tattoo very fast.. A friend of mine tattoed "Shh..." On his index finger just like Rihanna because he's a very big fan of her and in 2 months it was unreadable.
