I submitted this as a post before on this subreddit:
Indian jokes are characterized by broad-based puns and setups that couldn't deliver anything BUT the intended answer (example: teacher: can you tell me the names of 2 kings that have made people happy? student: smo-KING and drin-KING).
Obviously that's a shitty joke because the setup is designed to deliver a specific answer that the joke-teller had in mind (smoking and drinking). It's like Indians work backwards from a random word or scene they are thinking of and design a setup to deliver the pre-thought punchline.
This is a good joke if it were done visually, in one frame of a comic.
Have it just be the man with phone in one hand, a few knives in the other, and over his shoulder is a photo on a wall (you could even label it "Wife") and have a few knives already stuck in the wall. And then just have the last two lines from this. Done.

No. These comics are shit because they're low effort to begin with. None of the creators of these comics really want to put in hard work and dedication to make it good. Their tactic is volume: 9 might fail but the 1 that works is good enough for them. This ain't no The Far Side. This is India.
