Should be "no bad sugar" like sweets, soda, etc.
booope ยท 37 points ยท Posted at 22:57:39 on March 3, 2020 ยท (Permalink)
Ye, fruits are good for you even though they have lots of fructose, idk how but apparently when you eat fruits as opposed to high fructose corn syrup it is able to feed your microbiome which produces certain neurotransmitters and neurotransmitter precursors as a byproduct. Even extreme raw carnivore diet people like Sv3rige eat some fruit.
Frutose (fruit sugar) also has a very low glycemic index so it doesnโt raise your blood sugar as much or as fast as highly processed sugars and carbs.
The large spikes in blood sugar make you more lethargic and lead to obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
booope ยท 2 points ยท Posted at 04:32:50 on March 4, 2020 ยท (Permalink)
Interesting, I never knew fructose had advantages over glucose, the fact that fructose gets turned into liver fat is very concerning, I'm still convinced that high fructose corn syrup is a worse ingredient than regular sugar. But in the case of fruits, not having nearly as much sugar as pop, I guess that makes them even better.
[deleted] ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 01:10:54 on March 4, 2020 ยท (Permalink)
Organic raw honey. Is that okay? Tablespoon a day in the blender with whey, fruit, broccoli, kale, spinach, organic all natural peanut butter, and whole milk?
Real honey has so much good shit in it I would not worry about the sugar unless you are eating like, a half cup at a time.
AmBorf ยท 12 points ยท Posted at 22:58:30 on March 3, 2020 ยท (Permalink)
Try to replace every sugary thing you eat or drink with fruit. I struggled quitting soda and had severe energy spikes and lows throughout the day. Now I managed to replace my intake of processes sugars with fructose from apples, bananas, oranges, and mangoes (the added fiber and vitamins are a nice bonus too). I feel infinitely better and maintain a steady level of energy all day.
Once you replace artificial sugars with fruit and the like you wonโt be able to go back, candy and that garbage will actually be gross to you
[deleted] ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 12:30:11 on April 2, 2020 ยท (Permalink)*
Oh I know, I've had a few periods of being sugar free and walked through the confectionary aisle and it made me feel nauseous. I just can't seem to be consistent.
2 liters really isnโt that much. However I understand where youโre come from, a lot of โhealthโ advice advocates for a gallon or two a day, which outside of areas with single digit relative humidity numbers, very hot temperatures , and people who exercise a ton, is quite excessive. The whole meme is kinda new age cringey. Alkaline water doesnโt really have any of the benefits most of the proponents claim either.
That being said, 2 liters isnโt really that much. Itโs perfectly healthy to drink a gallon or two a day. I think that the point most people should take away is really just drink more water and few flavored beverages.

Weird question, but do you piss a lot? I more or less drink whenever I feel like it and I don't have anything that... passes through, but some people are like "OMG I literally just drink water and pee it out". Probably has something to do with getting salt and potassium
booope ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 22:59:03 on March 3, 2020 ยท (Permalink)
Too much water will cause you to lose nutrients because of the limitations of the kidneys, they can't do a perfect job of preventing the water from washing your insides out at the chemical level, and I'm not talking about just toxins, it's anything small enough and water soluble.
It's old fashioned advice from a time when people thought salt (electrolytes) was the devil.
Now we know it is necessary and understand better how hydration works. I.e. if your pee is clear it's because the water goes in one end and out the other without doing much else useful.
Two litres is plenty (depending on activity level) to become hydrated if it is salted or quality mineral water.
I think that would explain it. It's probably different per person as per genetics and climate and whatever. Just drink until you're satisfactorily hydrated lad
I always keep water near me and end up drinking it all the time. I'm sure part of it is the psychological realization that since it's close by I can take a sip if I even think about my mouth getting dry. There are of course the obvious health benefits of water vs sugary drinks as well.
8+ hours is kind of a meme. Best thing I've found is to just get a natural and consistent rhythm and your body will basically follow it. 8 hours seems like a good amount, but I hear that 6-7 can be just as good for an adult. As a kid you're looking at 8-9, maybe 10 (so I've been told)
I don't know about pH levels, but you should also be sure to get enough of salt and potassium. Look into it, both are important. Also I wouldn't know if you need exactly two liters
Read what? Just reading doesn't seem like it's that much above watching TV other than it's less exciting. As-in it doesn't really do much for you. Maybe reading something that's intellectual or scientific.
Only drink water and juice; it will make your complexion look so much better. Also wash your face in the shower, especially if you are a naturally oily person.
Eat well, work out, and read as much as possible. Then youโre covering all your bases and are truly furthering everything about yourself.
I definitely agree with the list, except for the no sugar part. Sugar is not bad or unhealthy itself. In fact, sugar is actually good for your health, it's just that the source matters.
It's a huge misconception that sugar is bad for you that stems from the fact that cheaply made foods often use copious amounts of sugars, because sugar is a cheap and abundant resource that is pleasurable to consume.
But that pleasure experienced is meant to be rewarding in a positive way that reinforces good health and well-being. Unfortunately, food companies pervert this nutrient and use it in copious amounts to mask the nasty cheap, unhealthy garbage that is used to produce their "foods", negating the positive benefits of sugar.
If you consume sugar the right way, it will feel right, and it will make you feel and look healthier, not to mention it will lower your stress hormones and increase your testosterone.
Sugar is not a bad guy, it just needs to be consumed without all the other crap that usually comes with it. Fruit, juice, and Mexican soda (the soda without corn syrup, which is loaded with unhealthy additives) are great healthy ways to get sugar.
