It's only not worth having because you fail to make points. Trade is the lifeblood of most nations. Compare the difference of China and North Korea. China is a powerhouse of trade and is very well off in many faucets because of that. Korea has no major trade outlets so is a hellhole. It's leaderships fault that they have no trade. Mexicos trade isn't a problem now, but if it was threatened it would be their main issue by far. Trade is so insanely important that China would likely collapse as a nation if our trade agreements ended. It would obviously hurt us but not on their level. Everything you respond with shows an obvious ignorance to the issues and politics that are issues at the moment.
I've only brought up one of Trump's ideas, yet you believe that that alone is sufficient evidence for you to base your opinion of my political and economic beliefs upon. My favourite thing about growing up next to a Lithuanian family was hearing the mom yelling at the kids in Lithuanian with the occasional English word thrown in. "Blah blah blah skateboard blah blah blah blah POP-TARTS!"
oh, i'm aware (part of my family is Cuban) so it does go both ways. I'm merely referring to the stereotype of (usually) an american who is somewhat overconfident in their Spanish or thinks that is they speak english slower and louder a non-english speaker will understand them. It's by no means a perfect analogue to the "Weeaboo" stereotype, just the closest I could think of.
But you are completely correct, the speaking of a little Spanglish here and there does not itself evoke the stereotype, but is small part of the stereotype itself.

He says all sorts of crap to get angry people to support him, but when you look at what he's said before the campaign and even during the campaign it's much more moderate and leftist - for example he has supported universal healthcare, retaining entitlement programs, being a registered democrat and independent, etc. To an extent Clinton, Sanders, Carson, Cruz etc. are like that too but wig them they have a core idealogy - nobody knows what trump will be if he's elected or why he's running the way he is

As a Berner, I'll vote Trump over Hillary. With Bernie, we know he's going to actively try to change the system. With Hillary, she's guaranteed to be a continuation of the same, old, politics that we've grown tired of. Trump is a wild card. Because Bernard Sanders is offering us a chance to retreat from the brink. Trump almost guarantees a topple-over. I think plenty of moderate people vote. Not everyone is far left or far right, some people have mixed views and opinions. Myself for example, I am fiscally and foreign policy conservative, but for most social reforms like drugs, prisons, and especially the refugee crisis I am more liberal. There are plenty of people in my age group (20-29) who have similar views. I know that among my friends we all take our right to vote seriously, I don't know if that's the same among all people in my age group though.
I think that many if not most Americans are fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I would guess that is why most people are Independents, because neither parties reflect the majority of American values.

I don't really agree that most people are independent. I think that most politically active people (those who actually take part in the political process and vote) are either Reps or Dems. Very few people who I speak to about politics in my age group (20-29) consider themselves independent. Most follow their parents in their party selection, and others create their own values and pick their party affiliation based on that. I wouldn't even consider myself an independent because I tend to lean more towards the right, meaning that I am not a true moderate I guess.
That's cool. I admired the fact that she and Honkala got arrested for taking a stand to get into the debates in 2012. Media rules concerning "minor party" candidates piss me off- at the very least Green and Libertarian candidates should have a chance to be there.
I actually don't think that Hillary would be any better than any of the Republicans running. . I do believe she will have boots on the ground in Syria just as fast as the other Republicans. . she is just as owned by the banks as the other Republicans. . just because she can hide it better . . .
I am never again wasting my vote on the lesser of the two evils. 25% of the country is Rep, 35% is Dem and 40 is Independent and growing.

Politically I share a lot of the beliefs that Hillary stands by and has historically stood by as she is a moderate democrat, but I would never vote for her because she is so damn fake. She changes her whole personality based on what people want. It's actually hilarious because the people she is trying to appeal to (the youth) are being swept up by Bernie who I feel is more real than Hillary.
You stand by her current "beliefs" that she's using for this election. Don't forget she supported the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, No Child Left Behind, Wall St bailout, and said herself that marriage is between a man and a woman.

I kinda like Rand Paul but I don't think he really has a chance if he's genuine about his anti-war/anti-imperialist beliefs. Also, I wouldn't describe him as a "typical" Republican.
Rand Paul is just a watered down version of Ron with a less stellar voting record.
If Old Man Paul couldn't win, his son probably won't hold much of a chance - ever. That said, as one of your Northern brothers nothing would make me happier than to see Rand or Bernie win. Your other options this election cycle are a little terrifying.
Because they'll stick to what they say and I actually like both of their policies? I know it can be hard for someone who lives in a country of partisan hackery to believe that you can actually support two different ideologies or that someone could support two people with very different goals but it actually does happen. Neither seems to be in the pockets of big corporations and banks, and both would take your country in a better direction than it has currently been traveling.

Bernie's views are so far different from Communism that what you're saying is literal dogshit, waste of words, partisan hackery. Rand is a libertarian. Small government and capitalist. Your current big government capitalism is dangerous to everyone - Rands views, which are much closer to something the average American can stomach are still far enough away from big government, big business that him and Bernie are in the same sphere here.
Bernie doesn't necessarily want to shrink the government influence so much as he wishes to expand it for the purposes of a socialist outcome. While I am generally against the idea of government involvement (after all, I'm a libertarian) I am also in favor of some socialist views. A lot of what Bernie supports, I also support. You can't have it both ways.
I appreciate Rands approach to limiting government involvement, promoting capitalism and his other liberatarian views. Conversely, if you're going to be saddled with a "big" government, I heavily support a socialist one because it brings with it the most benefits to the average person. We're fast approaching the age of complete automation. Job loss is only going to get worse - while I do tend to support traditional capitalist views I also support the idea of trying something else. Scandinavia seems to be doing really well, and it won't be long before something like universal basic income might not only be warranted, but needed, and hopefully even successful.
Bernie wants to directly hit corporations with things like taxes and use the government to enforce these things; Rands approach allows freemarket capitalism and the (hopeful) removal of Government bodies that allow for rampant abuse. Both of these have the same effect of limiting large corporate monopolies.
Your other options are Trump - a racist wildcard who's too rich to care and says stupid shit like building a wall on the largest undefended border in the world to banning muslims and mexicans.

Is there something uniquely difficult for people to comprehend when talking about politics when it comes to holding opposing views? I'm personally in favor of Rand's economic policies over a sweeping change to socialism for many reasons the biggest of which is the potential to do it poorly and cause some serious problems (again, I'm an outsider here, for me the best thing is for you guys to just stay kinda stable where you're at) and I think they're better than the current system.
That said; I also believe we might be passed the point where a society without social programs and taxes on the super-rich can continue to function in a way that truly benefits the people. So while I may not really agree with what hes pushing in its entirety, based on other countries with similar models I'd still like to see you guys give it a try; everyone jokes about free healthcare in Canada without realizing that's how it is in most of the places you think of when you think of nice countries to live in. The US is a little bit behind, so while I appreciate the US for its dedication to capitalism I'd like to either see big government scaled back, or used to fund social programs if it has to continue being the behemoth it is. Nobody benefits from someone like Trump or Hillary winning, Trump because hes crazy and Hillary because shes horribly inconsistent.

People don't want a candidate that will incrementally push for a few things that improve the middle class while leaving the establishment that has allowed wall street and the ultra rich to devastate our economy over and over again to remain in complete power and control over policy making. They want a candidate that is going to strike deep into the heart of the establishment and work to sever the ties between candidates and their puppet masters. They want a candidate that will put candidates in a position to actually support their interests and not those who pay the most in campaign contributions. They want a candidate that understands that a demand based economy where the middle class has it's buying power returned is the only way out of the anemic growth pattern that has plagued us for the better part of a decade. They want a candidate that fights poverty and war profiteering, not fights a war on drugs and religious fanaticism overseas. They want a candidate who will stand by their side as an equal and demand for all of us as one body politic that all lives are precious and health care is a right for all. They want this plutocracy to end and have their great prosperity to stop being diverted into endless debt on student loans, home ownership, credit schemes, and even basic necessities they can no longer afford. Hillary is not that candidate. She never was, and if it appears to you or anyone that is the case you need to look at history and what and who she stands for. Being "liberal" in today's political terminology is essentially a moderate conservative. She has an interest in getting elected president, not serving your needs and it becomes blatantly obvious when you study her political career and how easily she changes her stripes when it means getting more votes. Every election is touted as an extremely important election and you should vote because the other team is really scary. 2000 will probably be looked at as more crucial than this one is shaping up to be.
Yeah. Keep in mind the Republicans are sliding further and further right. Hillary may technically be the status quo, but relative to the Republicans right movement year after year, she technically becomes a more left candidate every year.

It's only not worth having because you fail to make points. Trade is the lifeblood of most nations. Compare the difference of China and North Korea. China is a powerhouse of trade and is very well off in many faucets because of that. Korea has no major trade outlets so is a hellhole. It's leaderships fault that they have no trade. Mexicos trade isn't a problem now, but if it was threatened it would be their main issue by far. Trade is so insanely important that China would likely collapse as a nation if our trade agreements ended. It would obviously hurt us but not on their level. Everything you respond with shows an obvious ignorance to the issues and politics that are issues at the moment.

oh, i'm aware (part of my family is Cuban) so it does go both ways. I'm merely referring to the stereotype of (usually) an american who is somewhat overconfident in their Spanish or thinks that is they speak english slower and louder a non-english speaker will understand them. It's by no means a perfect analogue to the "Weeaboo" stereotype, just the closest I could think of.
But you are completely correct, the speaking of a little Spanglish here and there does not itself evoke the stereotype, but is small part of the stereotype itself.

Because Bernard Sanders is offering us a chance to retreat from the brink. Trump almost guarantees a topple-over. I feel we've reached the point of action or inaction where we need to choose a road towards a fascist future (internet surveillance and beyond), or a return to the core values this country was founded on. Where every person is free to choose their own adventure. Being born with rich or poor parents should not dictate your future. Education and healthcare should and must be available to every citizen of a first-world nation.

This is exactly how I feel. Where the Dem party is fucking up is this: HRC voters are almost all Dem and will vote for Sanders. . and a win would be guaranteed. I think plenty of moderate people vote. Not everyone is far left or far right, some people have mixed views and opinions. Myself for example, I am fiscally and foreign policy conservative, but for most social reforms like drugs, prisons, and especially the refugee crisis I am more liberal. There are plenty of people in my age group (20-29) who have similar views. I know that among my friends we all take our right to vote seriously, I don't know if that's the same among all people in my age group though.

I don't really agree that most people are independent. I think that most politically active people (those who actually take part in the political process and vote) are either Reps or Dems. Very few people who I speak to about politics in my age group (20-29) consider themselves independent. Most follow their parents in their party selection, and others create their own values and pick their party affiliation based on that. I wouldn't even consider myself an independent because I tend to lean more towards the right, meaning that I am not a true moderate I guess.

Hillary does not have the ability to pull the "vote for me or else" card. Democrats in general cannot win on fear. They need positivity and an incredible amount of effort to get traditionally absent voters to vote for them. That's how Obama won, that's why Hillary will fail.
Republicans can say whatever they want and they will still get almost every white person ages 25 and up to vote for them without fail, and judging the Internet Trump is appealing to kids a lot too. There's a real chance Hillary will blow it, she has no appeal whatsoever to those who hate politics and those who don't vote. And those are the people that win Dems elections.

Politically I share a lot of the beliefs that Hillary stands by and has historically stood by as she is a moderate democrat, but I would never vote for her because she is so damn fake. She changes her whole personality based on what people want. Because they'll stick to what they say and I actually like both of their policies? I know it can be hard for someone who lives in a country of partisan hackery to believe that you can actually support two different ideologies or that someone could support two people with very different goals but it actually does happen. I know, it's scary and insane. Call me crazy but slinging shit at the other candidate because of different political views that dont align with mine doesn't sound like a very good idea. But the US is so firmly entrenched in the repub vs dem way of thinking that I can't fault your disbelief towards my two choices.
No offense to you (but this is going to be offensive, sorry) but your way of thinking is the very core problem with American politics. The way you phrase things makes it seem like support for one automatically means I must think the other is cancer. Especially when Bernie gets the 'dirty word' socialist thrown at him when he's a far cry from what the rest of the world thinks of in regards to real socialism.
There's plenty that both want that I do not personally agree with. Theres plenty that I do agree with. That said, both Bernie and Rand have stuck by what they've said and have fairly great voting records (putting Rand against Ron is just unfair, comparing him against other options like Hillary shows you that Rand is still quite reliable). Neither seems to be in the pockets of big corporations and banks, and both would take your country in a better direction than it has currently been traveling.

Libertarian, which I guess you'll find surprising given my support for Bernie. I'm willing to concede that certain parts of Bernies platform are a little bit extreme for me but I still think it might be worth a try.
I also feel we're getting close to a society where a more socialist reform might be needed and the best thing for everyone despite my personal feelings towards business and capitalism in general.
It's easy to snipe a few topics and say how they don't align. While I'd personally rather see Paul win I do believe that what Bernie is trying to do is also a good thing. Do I think its economic disaster waiting to happen? Maybe - but I think the doomsaying is also a little extreme given the rest of the developed world.

Bernie's views are so far different from Communism that what you're saying is literal dogshit, waste of words, partisan hackery. Rand is a libertarian. Small government and capitalist. Your current big government capitalism is dangerous to everyone - Rands views, which are much closer to something the average American can stomach are still far enough away from big government, big business that him and Bernie are in the same sphere here.
Bernie doesn't necessarily want to shrink the government influence so much as he wishes to expand it for the purposes of a socialist outcome. While I am generally against the idea of government involvement (after all, I'm a libertarian) I am also in favor of some socialist views. A lot of what Bernie supports, I also support. You can't have it both ways.
I appreciate Rands approach to limiting government involvement, promoting capitalism and his other liberatarian views. Conversely, if you're going to be saddled with a "big" government, I heavily support a socialist one because it brings with it the most benefits to the average person. We're fast approaching the age of complete automation. Job loss is only going to get worse - while I do tend to support traditional capitalist views I also support the idea of trying something else. Scandinavia seems to be doing really well, and it won't be long before something like universal basic income might not only be warranted, but needed, and hopefully even successful.
Bernie wants to directly hit corporations with things like taxes and use the government to enforce these things; Rands approach allows freemarket capitalism and the (hopeful) removal of Government bodies that allow for rampant abuse. Both of these have the same effect of limiting large corporate monopolies.
Your other options are Trump - a racist wildcard who's too rich to care and says stupid shit like building a wall on the largest undefended border in the world to banning muslims and mexicans.
Hillary? The woman literally has already commit treason.
Cruz? Seriously? Listen to 5 minutes of him talking and you'll shake your head.
Rubio? Do you really want a guy who is working-poor (considering how much he makes) because he lives beyond his means running your government?
I get it, you figured you could hop on and try to insult someone because they can support two seemingly opposed ideologies but you're failing the whole 'logic and reason' part of this where I said I don't fully support every decision either of them wants to make.

Is there something uniquely difficult for people to comprehend when talking about politics when it comes to holding opposing views? I'm personally in favor of Rand's economic policies over a sweeping change to socialism for many reasons the biggest of which is the potential to do it poorly and cause some serious problems (again, I'm an outsider here, for me the best thing is for you guys to just stay kinda stable where you're at) and I think they're better than the current system.
That said; I also believe we might be passed the point where a society without social programs and taxes on the super-rich can continue to function in a way that truly benefits the people. So while I may not really agree with what hes pushing in its entirety, based on other countries with similar models I'd still like to see you guys give it a try; everyone jokes about free healthcare in Canada without realizing that's how it is in most of the places you think of when you think of nice countries to live in. The US is a little bit behind, so while I appreciate the US for its dedication to capitalism I'd like to either see big government scaled back, or used to fund social programs if it has to continue being the behemoth it is. Nobody benefits from someone like Trump or Hillary winning, Trump because hes crazy and Hillary because shes horribly inconsistent.

People don't want a candidate that will incrementally push for a few things that improve the middle class while leaving the establishment that has allowed wall street and the ultra rich to devastate our economy over and over again to remain in complete power and control over policy making. They want a candidate that is going to strike deep into the heart of the establishment and work to sever the ties between candidates and their puppet masters. They want a candidate that will put candidates in a position to actually support their interests and not those who pay the most in campaign contributions. They want a candidate that understands that a demand based economy where the middle class has it's buying power returned is the only way out of the anemic growth pattern that has plagued us for the better part of a decade. They want a candidate that fights poverty and war profiteering, not fights a war on drugs and religious fanaticism overseas. They want a candidate who will stand by their side as an equal and demand for all of us as one body politic that all lives are precious and health care is a right for all. They want this plutocracy to end and have their great prosperity to stop being diverted into endless debt on student loans, home ownership, credit schemes, and even basic necessities they can no longer afford. Hillary is not that candidate. She never was, and if it appears to you or anyone that is the case you need to look at history and what and who she stands for. Being "liberal" in today's political terminology is essentially a moderate conservative. She has an interest in getting elected president, not serving your needs and it becomes blatantly obvious when you study her political career and how easily she changes her stripes when it means getting more votes. Please, for the love of all your country, do not vote for her. Even if she is the nominee, write Bernie in and stand for something that actually matters to our future selves and generations to come.
