Mattress Firm. Same shit. At the changeover from Sleepy's I purchased a floor model Tempurpedic mattress set and a bed frame for like $1000. Delivery guys were late, showed up with the wrong tools, had to leave and come back which interrupted my daughter's bedtime, and didn't have the brackets for the footboard.

I called that night and played phone tag for two weeks. Set another time for them to come with the brackets, they said I had to have someone at the house at 3, and I work until 4, so I took time off, and they didn't show up. Walked into the store this time, explained the issue and a lady who was purchasing a mattress heard it, and walked out of the store, which was a coincidence; she was waiting for her boyfriend to get there and was going back in. Sales guy got angry with me for "driving away a customer" for simply mentioning the issue, very calmly. So calmly I was actually proud because I was pissed.

Sales guy said "we'll call you." Bought the bed mid-August, confronted in person (after three phone calls and many voicemails) at the end of September, and it is now November 20 and still the footboard is sitting in my upstairs hallway. Will never buy from that place again.

Edit: I live in a town that is home to one of the first Bob's (I HATE his voice btw) and can confirm, both customer service and furniture SUCK. I have bought three items from there and all three have failed to last more than a few years. The kicker is that you can work the Pottery Barn sales and get BETTER quality furniture on the cheap, many times cheaper or the same cost as "Bob the Whiny Bitch" (my dad has names for everyone).

Edit 2: I got a good deal on a mattress that is one of the low-end models of that brand, that sat on a shop floor for who knows how long, and I am somehow deserving of a shitty time with delivery and not receiving the entire bed because I got the mattress that sits on it for less than a new, non-floor model costs? Really? So if I hadn't included that I got a good deal, I'd simply be relating a story about poor service to back up the original attrition comment, but because part of it was inexpensive I am "crying" over it? I hope someone sells you a car and because you got a good deal on it, the back seat is removed. :)

I recently bought two pairs of shoes online from a store called Call It Spring. Got the shoes and they were both defective (one had glue stains and the other had pen marks all over.) I emailed them to seek a replacement and all they did was reply with a template email telling me to go to the store. Obviously the last thing I want to do is go to the store- hence online shopping. But I finally make my way there. The girl was absolutely horrid to deal with, the shoes I ordered couldn't be replaced and they won't refund me for the shipping.

I've called, emailed and posted online about my horrible experience. They reply, but only with a template email telling me to go to the store. When I call I've been on hold for 2 hours before I finally give up.

Now I have no shoes to show for it, a salty taste in my mouth, and am out $10 (in shipping alone, not including my gas and parking to get to their store ~30 min drive) and several hours of my time. Don't give them your money.

We recently purchased furniture from Bob's. Never again. It was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. Forgot half of our delivery, broke/scratched stuff while bringing in the other half, bounced around between phone reps and the store, the store manager being rude and calling us liars. The saying, "You get what you pay for" has never been more true.

Just went through this a few months ago. My truck caught fire(while I was in it) and I was told 4 different estimates for claims by 3 different people. Passed along for 2 weeks, after they claimed I didn't take the paperwork in ( I did, in person) that I was supposed to mail it instead of taking it in in person because I couldn't use the State Farm place 5 minutes from my apartment ( I did that too) only to find out I had to have had someone working for State Farm witness me fill out some of the paperwork ( I was told I didn't have to do that by 2 different people beforehand), and when they finally sent the check, I requested "Signature Required". It was supposed to be delivered to my door Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes, Friday passed. Fine out it was delivered Monday. To the wrong apartment. They said they called my phone and emailed me to let me know it was delivered - zip.

We have new insurance now. It's not the first time they either A: Gave me or my family the runaround and avoided doing what they promised to do or B: Just completely fucked things up and no one seemed to have a straight answer.

This one! Happened twice to me in the past year... Tmobile, cancelled mid month and they said they'd refund $30 of unused time, turns out the system registered me cancelling on the last day. Good thing I recorded the phone call and told them the employee name, id, exact time of the call, and exact amount of refund. And with Verizon, you scumbags. My home Internet partial month refund. They said I'd get $20, then said they contacted Citibank to track the refund and that they sent it to the wrong address, then I had a 3 way call with Verizon and Citibank and they STILL didn't process it, then finally the rep called them again and discovered they spelled my name wrong. Took me like 2 hours and 6 phone calls for a $20 refund.

I often daydream about sending invoices to insurance and/or utility companies for wasting my time. To Verizon FiOS, you have incurred a $150 bookkeeping fee by Eatsfiber2redditmore llc for consultation services regarding your shitty billing practices.

In Australia and most of Europe any company that didn't give you a refund or repair straight up once the item was designated as faulty gets a massive hammer dropped on them.

Some years back I moved to a different house and wanted to stay with the same provider, since they had cable rather than ADSL. Called their call centre from work to arrange the move. Luckily I had a headset. After 97 minutes on hold I had to go to the bathroom, when I got back they'd rung off.

Called repeatedly over the space of several days. Always similar (although I never waited for as long). Eventually one lunchtime I walked across town to their offices to arrange the move. The offices were 2 kilometres away. It was quicker to walk there, wait in reception for 20 minutes, and walk back, than it was to try to arrange it by phone. And this was a phone company!

Health insurance is the worst at this. They do things to overcharge you that they make appear like mistakes but are actually intentional. Then you have to sit on the phone with insurance and the hospital's billing department (both which have no incentive to help you) for hours until you find someone who actually cares even the slightest and are able to fix your problem in 5 minutes.

Or the worst is when the hospital thinks you owe money but you know you don't. At one point, I had collections calling me every week for a few months straight. Finally, after giving them the same information over and over, they finally realised I don't actually owe them money and stop calling.

If you're in the US, the Better Business Bureau is your friend. Both to look up businesses you are thinking of buying from and (especially assuming you picked an accredited business with a high rating) for keeping them straight

Every dollar that company saves not replacing beds that failed after 2 months, they can sell the beds cheaper and still profit the same.

If people want it to change, they need to vote with their wallet and shop places that give good customer service.

Ughhhhh We paid $1400 for our son's loft bed and drawer/hutch combo. They brought the wrong hutch on delivery day, then when we called they gave us the runaround and said the furniture we'd already paid for was "discontinued."

Two months later we were still dealing with their bullshit, waiting for returned calls, waiting to see if the manufacturer could make us a new hutch, etc... to one day find a check in the mail. $134. I have never been so livid IN MY LIFE. I will never spend another cent in Rooms To Go.

ATT is the shameless with using attrition to wear people out so they give up. every time I called I'd get passed around for an hour at least and every call ended with the rep telling me I'm in the wrong department. Happened every single time. So I had to pay them for service they didn't give me.

Ugh, i bought a reclining sectional from the Brick. I actually paid for the warranty (first time I have had warranty). The couch reclining mechanism have broke around seven times. I've had to wait up to three months for repairs, the repair guy is good. The Brick sucks nuts.

I did get a free replacement loveseat, than the replacement broke.

This is why there are laws mandating 3x compensatory damages, plus unspecified punitive damages.

This is pretty much the MO of insurance in general. The only industry where the ethical imperative is to figure out how to get out of contractual obligations.

Yup, had similar issues with Bobs... long story short I've had to deal with chairs that fall apart often and they have no desire to help me. At this point it's not worth the effort to go after them.

That clay-mation motherfucker.... ended up passing by a desk a guy was throwing out after buying Bob's valu-set "leave off the e for extra savings" office furniture which fell apart. The recovered desk off the street still works great and looks better after refurbishing it, the 3 year old pile of wood in my garage Bob tried passing off only hides the oil stains now.

I used to work with a guy that worked with Bob before he started Bobs Discount furniture. Been a while but if I remember correctly it was Bobs dad that owned a cabinet shop in Ellington, CT and Bob got the job because family. The guy was a total jackoff and every bit as annoying as he is on the commercial.

I feel that one. Had a car wreck, needed rehab, got pre-approved for 2 months. Did that. Doc wanted another month, got pre approved for another month. Finished that month.

Claim denied....after 2, pre approvals. Huge medical bill. I called every month for 3 years, always some hoop to jump through. Finally I called back to back 20 minutes apart and got completely different answers as to why my claim was still on hold.

Called the Texas department of insurance and they took of it in a week.

Fucking Playstation's customer service is like this. I have PlayStation Now, which is a service that lets you play PS3 games online and costs $15-20 a month. So I had this issue where when I tried connecting to it and got an error that said that it's temporarily unavailable, to try again later, so I waited a couple hours. Same error. The next day, same error.

On the third day, I was still having the same problem, so I reached out to their Twitter. It took almost a day to hear back from them. They give me a troubleshoot for a wireless connection. I have my PS4 connected through a LAN cable. I tell them this. They then want me to restore it to default settings. This doesn't do jack shit. So they tell me to message them so we can further solve the problem.

When I get a message back, they tell me to contact their online customer support. Well I did contact their customer support in between waiting for a response from Twitter, and I sat on my computer for three hours having to re-enter a captcha every five minutes to verify that I am not a robot never to get in contact with anyone. I told them this and didn't get a response back. I was fuming at this point. It had been three days since I started contacting Playstation's support. I finally posted to their message boards trying to get an answer and the next day I got an answer from someone who worked on PlayStation Now. I had been put through the ringer for three days to get an answer about how it was a problem on their end. Not mine.

It is one of the worst customer support experiences I've ever had in my life, aside from the guy who worked at RCA that hung up on me on Christmas because the surround sound system I got as a gift was giving me issues and (surprise!) I didn't have a receipt because it was (surprise!) a gift. For Christmas.

Ikea, of all places. I know it's not the best quality, but still. Couch literally collapsed as someone was sitting on it during party, just one guy, not even terribly large.

They have a something like a 10 year warranty, but it was purchased as a gift for me and my then girlfriend, so they didn't have the receipt.

I thought surely, this couch is obviously not 10 years old just replace it. Nope. Well, you did ship it to our address, can you check the shipping records and use that as proof of it being less than a fucking decade old? Nope, "shipping is handled by a third party, and we don't keep records of that."

My dog had dog insurance called 24 Hour Pet Watch. I called the insurance company before scheduling an appt to make sure they cover x,y, and z. They said yes. I brought the claim form to the vet on the day of the appt, the vet filled it out and faxed it. I called to make sure they received it. They did. I waited two weeks for the money. Nothing. Called again and they said wait a few more weeks. I did. And no money.

I called again and they said I didn't send the appropriate documents. So I called the very and said please fax the documents again. They do and I wait a couple more weeks. Nothing. Repeat, call insurance, call vet, refax papers, wait. Nothing

At this point I'm getting frustrated and I have the insurance and vet office on a 3 way call so we can make sure the insurance company gets the right documents. And so I wait a couple more weeks. Nothing.

Then I get an email that I won't be getting money back bc my claim passed the 90 day time limit. Fuck them.

In France, insurance markets are designed to favor dealing with this via lawsuit. If you sue your insurer in France, the insurance firm pays a big fine just for being sued.

I HATE this stuff. Companies shouldn't be able to neglect their obligations because they know the average consumer won't seek legal action.

Bob's really is the worst. I bought a $1600 sofa from them and paid $200 for delivery. Now I already had the exact same sofa in my house but it was ruined by a pet we took in for a while so I replaced it. Guys show up to deliver it and tell my wife it's too big and the 3 of them can't get it into the apartment. This is the same sofa that I got into the apartment by myself and took out by myself. They had no problem refunding me the cost of the sofa but wanted to keep the delivery fees because it was attempted. I had to talk to a dozen different people to get refunded.

As someone who worked at an insurance company call center, you're giving them too much credit. When people got shuffled around on the phones and had to submit 15 emails and 7 forms 50% of the time it was good old fashioned ineptitude.

25% of the time it was the customer demanding something we couldn't do without a hard copy on file, like changing their policy. That's just the law man.

The rest of the time it was just because it was legitimately over their head. They don't let the person answering the phones edit claims and initiate refunds.

I know because I did all the productivity reporting.

Also, when a group of people is taking up an entire walkway and nobody moves out of the way for anyone approaching. I regularly have to stop walking and let people walk into me because they won't make room and I have no way to avoid them. It's like they don't realize that they can step behind their friend for a couple of feet in order to avoid a collision.

I now take pleasure in politely, but firmly, walking directly in between the people conversing.

The number of times I walk by people on a busy downtown street and have to say "Hey guys, it's a sidewalk" and have them stare at me like I said something crazy is getting out of hand.

Doctors in hospitals are horrible for this; the attending will have a group of residents around clogging up the entire hallway and on top of that they have a habit of stopping at hallway intersections.

I usually just barrel through now. Or say "Excuse me!" While already standing way too close.

These days, I often happen to carry a heavy bag full of scuba equipment which makes an excellent battering ram :D

Well I come across people who are rudely in the way with no care, I usually make an effort to move around them myself & very loudly say "EXCUSE ME!" as passive aggressive as possible

I saw 2 guys in 2 cars talking, blocking a crosswalk, on the only 2 lanes of traffic. They were blocking people from both sides and cars from both sides. I knocked on the guy's darkened window and he was like "Sorry" and moved away a second after.

This makes me rage. For some reason, I always come across the lovely folks that leave their carts in the middle of an aisle on the diagonal so no one can get past. I am starting to think that the people that shop at my store are oblivious to the fact that other people shop there too. I usually leave the grocery store feeling pretty homicidal.

I get worse road rage in the grocery store than I do on the road. People just fucking going wherever they please, not looking before moving, blocking things with their morbidly obese ass, acting like you're an inconvenience to them for trying to have a grocery store trip last less than 6 hours. I fucking hate people at my local grocery store, at least once a week I also have to stand up for one of the people working because some entitled soccer mom goes off on them because the self checkout didn't scan their gluten free croutons as 19 cents cheaper than normal.

Fuck I need to think about something else.

Also, when I'm checking out and person behind me is literally SIX FUCKING INCHES from me as I'm paying. Like...hey, privacy much while putting in my PIN?

Work at a Starbucks inside a grocery store. I see this all the time and feel awful for those working around me who don't work in the kiosk. It's a legit madhouse. Were also located right next to an old folks home. You'l be walking fine until two people walking next to each other take up the entire isle. Then you walk at their speed. It's worse when it's summer time. You know the ol' saying "When temperatures get too high, the elderly will start to die", well it applies. At my booth alone I've had 3 elderly pass out and smash their heads onto my counter. Blood everywhere. No one helping. Everyone walking around them. There's something really wrong with people.

Only started working in a grocery store last month and this has already become the focus of my rage. The lack of common sense baffles me. I've had so many near misses of kids jumping out of nowhere when I'm pulling a big cage full of heavy stock and their parents just don't give a fuck.

My favourite is when I was working in a produce department and I had kids run around while their parents ignored them. These kids would often run right into other shopping carts and the push-carts we would use to hold boxes of produce while we stocked the department. Those push carts would have between 50-150lbs on them at a time, at least, so they will never budge to a child running into it. So many crying kids.

My mother is getting up there in age and I have to babysit the cart while she's pushing it because she'll just stop in the middle of the aisle for five minutes at a time.

When I was a kid I was grabbing a jar of gravy off the bottom shelf for my grandma and some guy walks over to grab something from the top shelf and knocked three jars down on top of me. One broke on the ground, one hit the back of my neck and one hit me right on the head and completely rocked me. We get distracted, I understand, but there needs to be some social convention where it's OK to remind people it's not cool to just decide to stop functioning and put yourself in everyones way. The weekend before Thanksgiving is fucking Hell. I had to stop as not 1, not 2, but 3 errant grocery carts went rolling toward to busy street because people are too fucking lazy to bring them back to the cart return.

And then people who are like, "I'm gonna just turn my cart sideways across the entire aisle while I slowly decide which brand of marshmallows to buy".

Most of the time when I'm grocery shopping it feels like I'm surrounded by people who have never before stepped into a grocery store or any kind of retail facility for that matter because they have no understanding of how to maneuver around

I too work for a grocery store and my way of dealing with this is to say hello in a friendly yet REALLY loud voice. Also works for anybody in my way (when I add "excuse me") the down side is having to help more people but the sudden looks of waking them up is worth it.

I was at the grocery store about a month ago with my two kids (5/3) and the 3 year old was in my cart. This lady was waiting to be helped at the deli counter but was taking up 80% of a 15 foot wide space while doing it. Cart horizontal- she standing at the end of it completely oblivious to everyone around her. I said to my son "keep your hands in we're going to squeeze by" and proceeded to slide through the little space that she left available. No big deal right?

Well that bitch and her husband proceeded to follow me around for the next 3 minutes repeatedly saying things just loudly enough to each other like "what a rude asshole for not saying excuse me". I didn't bump her, didn't touch her, didn't do anything untoward.

I'm a somewhat large dude and could have pounded the guys face in pretty easily but alas I don't like getting arrested. I didn't want to start an argument in front of my kids so I had to bite my lip and pretend I didn't hear them. Lots of assholes in this world.

I shove unmanned carts stuck in the center of aisles out of the way, I will GRAB the FRONT of someones cart if it's about to collide with me, or my cart and PHYSICALLY alter its course.

I don't give a shit. The whole world needs some fucking manners, mindfulness, and a swift smack upside the head. This world has generated a lot of 'ME ME ME ME' attitude (especially salient if you work in retail or fast food and have to deal with people and their needs)

Just to make sure I'm not a hypocrite, I make sure to look both ways when I enter or exit aisles. I stay on the right side in aisles, and I make sure my cart takes up as little traffic space as possible so that people can get on with their damn lives. I face anything that I take off the shelf and put back, and I help bag groceries.

Retail employees, waiters, and anyone working in the service industry gets UNFOLDED, UNCRUMPLED, AND NEAT bills. They get quick answers and I try to make everything really easy to grab on the conveyor belt. If I got a basket I'll just put the whole basket up there so they can just pull from that, and then I go bag the groceries. My carts go in the cart return, I don't just leave my cart in the middle of the parking lot like unattended car door seeking guided missiles, and I will go out of my way to chastise people who do. Idgaf, I love it. People think 'the customer is always right' is a fucking GUIDELINE TO LIVE THEIR LIVES BY. No, my motto is 'The Customer is always a target', and I'm coming from you, you inconsiderate sack of adipose tissue, and I'm gonna make your kids cry.

Worked as a cashier for 5 years. Have your groceries organized on the belt in order from heaviest to lightest/most fragile. Have your payments ready to go and if you don't see a bag person bag your own groceries. All this shit is good sense and makes the lines go faster. I would say less than 5% of people ever do all of those.

I always hold the door for people. Contrary to popular belief that guys (and/or the "younger generations")are rude, my personal experience suggests that 90%+ of guys (say, 18-60) thank you or acknowledge the gesture. Women of the same age is around 70% - 80%. The elderly is barely 40%.

I'd probably use similar figures (maybe slightly less) when letting people out in traffic.

I get these old people who park their carts directly in front of the backshop doors as I'm approaching them. The last old woman who did it jutted her cart out at the last minute to make absolute sure that I could not pass.

Working grocery has made me hateful. Especially of old people and kids.

Is it just me or do old people not tend to apologize when they make mistakes or do the wrong thing?

I know how you feel, old people are the worst in my past 3 years at my store, they always either act super humble and nice or they act like they fucking own the place, no in-between.

Then the old lady gives you this dirty look like you bumped into her. Then demands an apology about how you're harassing her. But you stand there, just bewildered. Unsure how to respond because this is something that isn't supposed to happen. You were just standing there, but somehow you still got in trouble. You begin to apologize, to be the bigger man. But she begins yelling at you and you are at a loss of words. People start looking at you and giving you dirty looks, as if you were hurting the old lady. But they don't know what happened. But if you try to argue your way out, no one will believe you. So you stand there, questioning your life choices. Wondering what you did in your past life that lead you to this moment.

Trust me when j say working in a grocery store is the most dehumanizing thing you can do for a living. One time I stood up for myself and the guy threatened to kill me after work. I'm serious. No exaggeration. A guy was rude, I said I'm not having it and walked away, and he grabbed me, turned me around and said he'd find me after we close and kill me. We had to call the cops. It was a whole thing. And the kicker? It was because I asked him to come over to my register. He wanted to be rung up at a register that was closed and I said I could take him at mine and that just fucked him up for some reason.

I was in Costco and had a lady drop her cart directly in front of me in the middle of the aisle, with steady traffic moving around us in all directions. She walks off to grab a sample, completely oblivious and uncaring to everyone around her.

After waiting for what felt like minutes, I finally was able to maneuver around her cart when I saw her coming back. Zombie-like and munching on whatever fried taquito-esque edible that she had scored, she made her way back to her cart, inconveniencing anyone in her path.

At this moment, I had an idea. I should plant my cart directly in front of hers. At the very least, she'll have to back up and move around my cart. What actually happened was better. As I pretended to contemplate buying an enormous block of cheese, she plowed right into my cart. She was suddenly shocked out of her careless, selfish stupor, and I used this opportunity to make direct eye contact with her and glaaare. It was such a good glare.

Oh, I've been shopping yesterday, so the rage is still on. Started really polite, ended with following:

You do not understand that if you need time to read the label, you need to move your cart from the middle - I'm hitting your cart as fucking hard as I can, preferably resulting in you being hit. There was 40 something dude who tried to intimidate me for it - he ended running the fuck away from me.

Not being aware of your fucking surroundings in a busy grocery store. 4 hours into a shift (currently) and I've been mashed in the ankles by 2 old people and 1 child while stocking shelves close to the floor. The child is the only one who appologized.

I once worked in a grocery store as a Porter (Janitor), and one day I was called over to the prepared foods section for a spill. Somebody spilled the juice / grease from a preparered rotisserie chicken in front of the display. It was an afternoon where there was a lot of foot traffic and I always kept a lot of wet floor signs on my cart, so I made a tight perimeter of ~7 wet floor signs around the spillage (the chicken grease tends to be extremely slippery).

We had an absorbent powder called "Spill Magic" that worked excellent on oil based products, so I sprinkled a hefty amount on the area, since there was quite a bit of liquid spilled. I went back to put the container of Spill Magic on my cart, and this fucking lady takes her carriage and pushes through the first barrier of wet floor signs, drives her cart right through the powder (this was a pretty big pile of powder), pushes through the other side of wet floor signs, then turns around a goes "Ooops...". Then, she just pushes her cart down the whole fucking aisle leaving 2 30-foot lines of powder that I had to sweep up because we can't have anybody slipping on that shit either.

I just came back from a trip at Disney, and the amount of times people just walked right into me was astounding. Especially people with strollers, like they were entitled to go wherever they please because they had that huge hulking thing.

The worst is the people that decide that the exit is the best place to stop and check their receipt and make sure they got everything.

Old people are the worst, they have no perception of the world around them.

this is why I like 24 hours grocery stores and shop in the middle of the night. nothing makes me more anxious than a mass of people undulating around me. I like to wander around at my own pace when the store is close to empty.

I work at Costco. People there are fucking terrible. I have bruises from people smashing into me with carts and then they look at me as if I should be the one apologizing. Fuck you asshole.

This is one of the hundreds of reasons I can't stand to go to the store with Mom.

She gets one of those electric carts, even though she can walk just fine, and keeps parking it all around and sitting in one spot for upwards of fifteen minutes to compare all the nutrition facts while people are standing by and being too polite to ask her to move out of the way so they can get their Cheerios. She sometimes parks right across from someone else who is also taking their time, effectively blocking the entire aisle.

This is my life working at Homegoods. I constantly go to stock back up on the items that customers return with a huge hamper, and it is SO HARD to navigate around customers without getting dirty looks. Like, really people? I have to put everything back where it goes, do no give me attitude for making my way around you and doing my job.

Am a recently new cart guy and the amount of dumb people is astounding. Bringing in a huge line of carts,30 plus and all people need to do is casually walk a little left or right. Like you'd do in any busy social situation. And they act surprised when I'm ripping the full line of carts to a complete stop because they can't just casually go left or right.

Had a flight gate once that sent me down an escalator to the jetway. Woman in front of me saw that the jetway was filling up and instead of moving over into the vast empty space next to the escalator, decided to wait in line at the bottom with her suitcase on the exit step. With so many people behind me, it was not really an option to keep climbing back up but I did for a few steps while yelling at her, ma'am, to please move her suitcase and get out of the way. Apparently she didn't hear me so I had no choice but to get to the bottom and kick her suitcase out of the way and shouted "EXCUSE ME" before the panicked people piling up behind me and I all fell over it. She was pissed that I touched her bag but the guys behind me bitched her out for being an asshole and she stood awkwardly and embarrassed the rest of the wait on the jetway with pissed off glares burning holes in her back.

And people who stop literally as soon as they step off a bus seemingly forgetting there is a ton of people behind them who also want to get off. They always get up and stand at the front of the bus to get off first as if they are in a hurry too, just to be extra assholeish.

The other day I saw a really lazy woman throw her luggage bag down an escalator because she didn't want to carry it. I think she thought the escalator was empty but it nearly took me out.

That happened to me at dragon con this year. There were these girls who started looking around right in front of me and we're trying to pick a direction. But, there was an endless stream of people and I knew I couldn't stop so I just kneed one of the girls in the butt and pushed both of them forward to keep the line from becoming a disaster.

I was on an escalator once that was very narrow. One person behind me and two in front. The guy at the very front is with the girl behind him and decides to play a joke on her by grabbing the side rails so she can't get off. She's saying "Stop, Michael! Move! Move!" and he's just laughing at her, meanwhile I have to start taking backwards steps and step on the foot of the lady behind me. This was was in his 30s. Old enough to know better. He could have caused an accident. I regret not saying anything to him about it.

Or just inside or outside a revolving door.

My niece got baptized yesterday. I'm waiting at the crosswalk in the middle of nyc, and some bitch with a coffee looking at her phone walks right into me, looks up, gives me a dirty look and scoffs. Also, at work Friday, 3 elevators and 2 are broken, so naturally, the 1 elevator is packed. Also, if you are on a moving walkway like at an airport, if you're standing, stand off to the side. Some people are trying to get somewhere and don't treat it as a carnival ride.

I live in a small town known for having speed traps. Yet every time I'm driving through town, going exactly the speed limit, I have people tailgating me. Trying to get around me in a short two lane period before the road goes back to one lane. Only to have these same people go under the speed limit out on the highway, where I rarely ever see cops. I don't understand their logic.

Or when there's heavy traffic and people decide use another lane to speed up and then try to cut back into the lane they actually need to be in. I had to wait 10 minutes at a stoplight because of this while my son was bawling in his car seat. Ugh.

I've mentioned this before but one time I was with my dad in the motor home and we were coming up to a merge, so the guy in the right lane guns it to pass us and then immediately slams on the breaks to make a right turn. Why would you actively try to get in front of someone just to break ?

To the driving offenses, I want to add..... I drive fast. I have places to be. My general rule of thumb is anyone coming up fast behind me is a cop and it's true about 90% of the time. On the hwys, no biggie, I just make sure I'm in the travel lane (not the passing lane) and slow down to the speed limit.

But I drive at night and through a lot of small towns for work. Small town cops will pull over drivers for 1mph over the speed limit. So when passing through towns, I am going a tad under. If you come up hot behind me and ride my ass and it's too dark for me to distinguish your car from a patrol car.... sorry, I'm not speeding up. Cops love to ride the ass of the car in front of them and officers here on reddit, can you just stop that please?

If the car backs off a bit, I'll speed up until I can pull over to let them pass. Otherwise I'm slowing down because I'm not throwing away a nights pay to a ticket. And yes, I will pull over to let people pass. Just easier to let the cop pass me or let someone else risk the ticket if that's how they want to live their life lol

Tldr; don't ride my ass on dark streets or I'll assume you are a cop and slow down more.

I thought that's just called "driving" in the USA? You know, along with never using turn signals, never letting faster traffic pass and treating round abouts like stop signs because your tiny pea brains can't function without some authority tell you what to do when you have to think for yourself.

Okay, what I'm going to say only applies while I live here in Japan. In the states I'm much more polite.

I do this somewhat frequently to get out ahead of unpredictable drivers, increasing my safety. I'd rather have the swerving, speeding, late braking asshole be stuck behind me than in front where he'll just run into more people driving slowly/reasonably and then maybe get me into an accident.

At the very least, I'll get a significantly lower percentage of the blame in an accident, maybe even as low as 0%. (Cops and insurance in Japan assume there is almost never a 100% vs 0% situation, so for the vast majority of accidents the cops/insurance company will assign a percentage of blame to each driver and charge them/increase premiums appropriately.)

This is when I just slow way down to like 30 kmh and try to piss them off. If I can't see, I ain't driving fast

I recently got my first car and the engine is only 1.1 L it's a great little car. Decided to take a drive up nearby mountains last Sunday. Theres a pub at the top of one of the mountains and you can drive up to it. It's a two way road with only enough space for one car so you've to drive quite cautiously. Also, it's pitch black and icy. I was doing 60kmph steadily going up this hill with some cunt in a Porsche Cayenne right behind me tailgating. He was frustrated that he couldn't overtake me so he started beeping at me to go faster for about ten minutes. Now the speed limit is 80kmph as it is for all of these tiny unmarked roads here but if you're not familiar with them you shouldn't be doing 80 on them. It was also quite icy and pitch black so I wasn't taking any chances. Then this fucker decides to start flashing his high beams in my rear window repeatedly trying to get me to speed up. I continued ingoring him. Eventually at the top of a very steep ascent in the road I see a gap on the edge of the road when I can pull in and allow him pass. He passes by me, giving me the finger as he goes.

I start driving again, nearly there. We come to the last big ascent, it's a super steep and spiraled piece of road and i was glad that fucker wasn't behind me for it. I took it in first gear, gradually climbing to the top. I could see the light from the pub just above some trees in the distance. Once I got to the top of this spiralling hill I see the fate of our Porsche driving friend. His beautiful SUV wrapped around a tree in the ditch and him standing beside it on the phone. I waved as I drove by.

Often lifted truck have the factory angle on their headlights because no body tells you that you have to adjust them when you get a lift kit. That being said, ignorance isn't permission.

A definitely feel like there should be a standard light brightness/height. It's extremely dangerous to blind drivers, in case car manufacturers and high-beam-piece-of-shit-users didn't know that.
