I dont understand what "raising awareness" does for anybody besides lining the pockets of the people in charge of the "awareness" charities.
Awareness charities are mostly a scam and I wouldnโt recommend donating to them, but raising general awareness of an issue/disease is beneficial. ALS isnโt as widely known around the world, as say cancer, and if people are made aware of the disease, they might go out looking for a proper charity to donate to.
Directly advertising an awareness charity (ahem breast cancer awareness foundation...Iโm looking at you) is, for the most part, bullshit. Raising awareness as a general issue, and not towards a specific foundation, is good.
Ideally, more donations to research to find a cure.
But you're right about it sometimes being a scam... Like, I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of cancer in general so do we need cancer awareness charity? Probably only for super rare forms...
Colon cancer is usually very treatable when found via screenings and earlier screenings for those higher at risk. Lot's of people right off bleeding and other symptoms as regular bowel issues like hemorrhoids which causes it to be missed.
That's a form of cancer I'm all for there being more awareness about and there are others. Breast cancer survivability rates have skyrocketed since self checks and the like have been promoted.
Ok real talk it's not about raising awareness, it was just a meme petition that the NFL and M5 acknowledged and teased at then played 3 seconds of the video.
It was nothing more than a meme promise broken and all the anger around it is meme anger, But still fuck them for lying.
Instead they just went on a social justice crusade, even going as far as to use the term social justice. This Superbowl did not help the NFL.

I'm sure if there was any kind of voting system where fans could choose then the internet would have made it happen, but the NFL doesn't work like that unfortunately.

No, because they would have to pay royalties to whoever owns the licensing for the song. And with an audience the size of the Super Bowl, I would have to guess that would be in the millions just for the licensing. Just so they can make a small corner of the internet not feel like they are growing old and the things they knew as children aren't dying.
Spongebob has become quite a big thing on the internet. Its popularity helped some petition to play a song get a long of signatures. Superbowl teased the song, which led to a massive increase in hype. In the actual event, it plays for 5 seconds, then some shitty rap starts playing. Results in massive backlash. They would have had very little backlash if they didn't intend to play it at all, but the bait kinda pissed people off.

Basically there was a huge movement (>100k people) to have it played at the super bowl in memory of the recent passing of SpongeBob creator, Stephen hillenburg. It's from the episode "band geeks", where Squidward puts together a band to play the halftime show to impress his rival. Pretty good song too. The NFL teased it and showed a very short clip from the episode, but then used it to introduce Travis Scott and didn't actually follow through with it. A lot of people who were looking forward to it feel like they were baited, and are pissed about that.

The NFL doesn't care about trolling people. It was a marketing stunt. They saw a large group of people that wanted to see something. So they told that group il that they would give it to them, just make sure to tune in! Then they used a whole 5 seconds of their show to be able to say they showed it, but they really didn't. Awareness charities are mostly a scam and I wouldnโt recommend donating to them, but raising general awareness of an issue/disease is beneficial. ALS isnโt as widely known around the world, as say cancer, and if people are made aware of the disease, they might go out looking for a proper charity to donate to.
Directly advertising an awareness charity (ahem breast cancer awareness foundation...Iโm looking at you) is, for the most part, bullshit. Raising awareness as a general issue, and not towards a specific foundation, is good.

Colon cancer is usually very treatable when found via screenings and earlier screenings for those higher at risk. Lot's of people right off bleeding and other symptoms as regular bowel issues like hemorrhoids which causes it to be missed.
That's a form of cancer I'm all for there being more awareness about and there are others. Breast cancer survivability rates have skyrocketed since self checks and the like have been promoted.

Basically there was a huge movement (>100k people) to have it played at the super bowl in memory of the recent passing of SpongeBob creator, Stephen hillenburg. It's from the episode "band geeks", where Squidward puts together a band to play the halftime show to impress his rival. Pretty good song too. The NFL teased it and showed a very short clip from the episode, but then used it to introduce Travis Scott and didn't actually follow through with it. A lot of people who were looking forward to it feel like they were baited, and are pissed about that.

Not sure when I compared the two. Youโre the one conflating Nazis with modern nationalist populism. Iโll concede itโs similar, but you canโt look at what happened in the 1940s when comparing the national interests today.
My point is that Russia wishes to be a real world power. Weakening North American and EU alliances is good. The northern states did not have plantations and did not estate any Jim crowe laws, any freed slave should have taken the hint and moved to industrialized areas. It's funny hearing the excuses people make for this particular community while they condemn low crime poor white communities in the rust belt. A black gangster born in charlotte NC is infinitely more privileged than a white coal miner in west virginia.
