It's true economics. People who have money and a job pay people for their art and talent. The money gained from 10 commissions (lets say $20 each), $200. That could be weekly.
That money he earns gets injected into the real economy, and some back into the furry economy as he commissions more from other artists. His art also acts as his own advertising as it gets shared and the more of it there is saturating furry sites, the more business he gets, meaning he can raise prices for demand and all the while getting better at his trade.

In all seriousness, i have 2 artist friends who pretty much makes over 400$ a week for 60$+ drawings. It's insane how some people are willing to pay so much. Hell, people can pay up to 250+$ for comics which are around 3 or 4 page with maybe 2 or 3 picture on each image.

When you've got no partner or family who care about you, as well as no serious hobbies except what is essentially porn, I'm sure it would be very easy to be career orientated.
The furries I know are mid-level IT personnel making ~75-100k. They live in the cheapest apartments, buy furniture from goodwill, and eat macaroni and cheese or frozen pizza every night.

At my last IT job (I was tier 2 tech support) our network security guy was an autistic brony. He had mlp figures at his desk. He owned up to it though no matter how much we all cringed.
They're either from high income families (about half(4) the furries I know live in houses bordering-on-but-not-quite-mansions) or they put a lot of effort into reaching their own 'ideal'. Whether that may be a strong/lithe body or a strong career.
And being a furry is relatively cheap unless you want to spend money on it. You can save up for something big or buy a few commissions here and there as something small.
Well, I know a guy who's a furry and he inherited over a million dollars when his father died. Then his fucking mom grounded him after he spent over 100 grand on dumb shit, last i heard he was still not allowed to spend any money by his mom.

Furries have jobs. Money from those jobs get injected into their interests. An artist may make $20 a commission (that's low tier stuff), and do 10 commissions a week if they're dedicated.
Those artists pay other artists for commissions, and the money gets passed along. As artists make more art, that art gets shared and advertised more, and makes more demand for them, and as they get better they raise the price of their art. There's artists who commission for $1000 (Those are usually group commissions with 5-10 people in the one scene). It's really a self perpetuating economy. All the art is unique and contributes.

The theater has that nice cocoon effect, assuming you're not sitting next to someone horrible. The lights go off, your phone is (hopefully) tucked away and it's just you and the movie.
Plus big spectacle pieces like Gravity really hit their mark in a theater that is hard/expensive to recreate at home.

Fuck that I love theaters. My friends and I drive down to the same one every week or so since it's $5 for a massive screen with personal remote controlled recliners made of leather. On Fridays and Saturdays we can all pile in for a $1 each since I know the people that work there. Movie theaters are the best.

hmm, the only time I have ever done it was when I Paid to watch Kung Pao Chicken. In the whole movie screen room thingie where you observe the movies, it was me, a construction worker who was killing time, or getting some cold air away from texas heat, and an old fat black woman. 5 minutes into the movie, the construction worker, either snuck out to another movie, or embraced the texas heat instead of Kung fucking cunt. But, since I had committed to this movie, i stuck by for the next 15 minutes. The old black woman, started hysterically laughing at each movement Odirkadirk was making. Initially, i found her laughing more amusing than the movie, but after a while, it started to boil my blood, at how she was finding it funny, while I wanted to stab myself for wasting 15 minutes on this movie. Needless to say, I became that bitch you guys hate who audibly starts complaining about the movie. After 10 minutes to continued bitching, I just sneaked into another shitty but better movie.

I've stopped doing it because I just end up missing 15 + minutes of the movie. In the new Jurassic park I missed the entire trex fight scene. Yeah I sat through the entire god damn film just to miss that.
An entire family of like 10 people were all using their phones. And this theater was packed too, I was surprised no one else did shit.
Sadly this theater doesn't have a "if you're caught you get kicked out" policy :(
I had a movie experience with some fuckshit like that too, he was on a date miraculously and trying to impress the girl I guess...though she seemed pretty fuckin embarrassed to be with him.
I was with my wife and her brother, and things started heating up towards the end of the movie with him telling this kid to shut the hell up and shit like that.
Credits start to roll and I've got my fist clenched just in case he was a sucker punching type. Turns out he wasn't, he was a popcorn throwing type. He tossed a fist full back at my bro-in-law and started to leave, and I swear some kind of rage took control of me. I was powerless sandwiched in my seat except for a very large Hawaiian Punch that I left under my chair out of fear I'd have to piss 5 times during the movie if I actually drank it.
I grab it, and I threw it hard as I could at this kid, and it went all fucking over him and his white hoodie.
"Ey! I'm goin to management doggy! Let's go to management doggies!" Yes...he said doggies.
Him and this girl must have booked it really fast cause we didn't see them in any of the hallways leading out until we passed them standing at I guess the customer service desk. We just kept walking.

That's why I spent the extra and went to watch it in the VIP theatre. No kids, alcohol and food delivered to my seat and enough room that I could comfortably manspread all over the place.

I go get the manager like 3 times, and he just laughs each time. He sent in dudes with bright orange glowing cones, and each time the guy would stop vaping.
So I figure he caught on because he started vaping even more just to spite me.

I've been really lucky. The movie theater I go to has two seats in their own row right above the entrance, so if I show up early, I can just kind of sit sideways and put my feet/legs up.

Exactly why I wait to see movies a month after they come out, on a weekday morning showing. Normally I'm there with only seniors, but with movies like Deadpool it's just me.
The Good Dinosaur was a fucking atrocious movie. I went with my adult girlfriend and her little (8 year old) sister.
My. Fucking. God. My girlfriend had to drink herself sideways through the movie just to tolerate it. I was fit to start tearing the theatre apart and spent a lot of time on my phone. The kid enjoyed it but damn, it was so hackneyed and worn out. The studio should have done a much better job on the story given that they've produced actually good films in the past.
I guess I got lucky at Deadpool. There were some kids, but no one ever yelled or laughed for an obnoxious amount of time (really just when everyone else was already laughing).

It's really good, incredibly funny and has a lot of jokes in it that go over kids heads. The theater I was in was laughing hard. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some fags on the internet give it flack because it features animals that talk but pay them no mind.
It has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and beat Frozen's opening weekend.

You're right that bad weed which has been cured improperly does have a kinda fecal skunky spoiled smell.
Good weed smells like a combination of bay leaf, pine sap, lemon rind, and hops, with no hint of skunkyness. When you burn it it tastes burned of course, it'll be gentle on your lungs but really smoke doesn't have a good smell to me. But a nice vapor bag tastes really nice, almost like a spicy popcorn aroma.
It might shock you but not everyone thinks that smells good. Personally I think hops smell awful.

Well, it's a matter of personal preference of course. Everyone experiences smells differently. It's only a single note of hops, not the whole aroma of hops.
Have you ever used a volcano or similar thing? It tastes like popcorn with a bit of coffee like roasted aromas. Very pleasant smelling. Even if you don't like raw weed aroma I think you'd like that.
This theater (or this story) makes no sense, some of the seats are reservable and some are not within a single screening room.
That would create conflicts and confusion at every single screening of every movie ever in that room. Someone would sit in the reserved seat, then someone else would come in with the ticket for that seat.
That's what I'm thinking. It's either all reserved seating or normal seating. I don't see how This situation would work.

The one I go to operates this way. If you walk in without reserving, they show you a screen that tells you what seats are still available. Then you get assigned to the seats you choose.

Where I live the whole screen is reservable. When you buy tickets at the cinema they will assign you a seat that hasn't been reserved. They just ask if you prefer front, middle or back seats.
A theater where ALL seats are reservable makes perfect sense. I have been to such theaters many times.
A theater where SOME seats are reservable, and other people come in with general admission tickets to sit anywhere, makes no sense.

My local theater has iPads when you buy a ticket you have to pick what seat you're going to sit in. If someone payed for that seat online it will be red and you can't select it. I guess theoretically you could purchase every seat
You can reserve ahead of time on preorder but get a ticket for general seating buying at the counter. It has been that way for years now. How do you not know this? Must not get out much.

For RPX you reserve the seat when you buy the ticket, as in you have to pick a seat. So there's no way a mom (or the other people) would come in and just try to sit anywhere. And even of she was that dumb, a manager would never say "there's plenty of other seats" he would look at her ticket and tell her where her seat is. It's the exact same as getting tickets to a baseball game or something.

Did essentially the same thing as OP but with Toy Story 3 and had similar responses, but nobody left, about 10 minutes into the movie though a small girl, 5 or 6 came over to me and asked as quietly asked "Excuse can me and my mum sit on the comfy seats please?" I told her sure, she ran off with a massive grin and a few seconds later they sat down next to me, little girl shared her popcorn with me, people that had complained tutted the whole time though.
It's like that time that a whole bunch of single South Koreans got together to purchase every other seat in every showing of a romance movie on its release date, Valentine's day.
I actually read this twice because it gave me so much joy. If I did this though I would reserve the seats immediately behind me as well so nobody would kick my chair.
The theater near me just recently switched from first come first serve to assigned seating when they got their fancy new recliners.
It sucks. I wasn't even able to find the row indicators or seat numbers when I went last weekend. Somebody was already sitting in my seat anyway, so when I did find out how to see where I was supposed to go, I had to get a manager to move the fuckers anyway.
This new assigned seating thing is way too confrontational for a beta furfag like me. Just let me sit in line for an hour before the show starts so I can get the best seat like the old days

In all seriousness, i have 2 artist friends who pretty much makes over 400$ a week for 60$+ drawings. It's insane how some people are willing to pay so much. Hell, people can pay up to 250+$ for comics which are around 3 or 4 page with maybe 2 or 3 picture on each image.

Furries have jobs. Money from those jobs get injected into their interests. An artist may make $20 a commission (that's low tier stuff), and do 10 commissions a week if they're dedicated.
Those artists pay other artists for commissions, and the money gets passed along. As artists make more art, that art gets shared and advertised more, and makes more demand for them, and as they get better they raise the price of their art. There's artists who commission for $1000 (Those are usually group commissions with 5-10 people in the one scene). It's really a self perpetuating economy. All the art is unique and contributes.

The theater has that nice cocoon effect, assuming you're not sitting next to someone horrible. The lights go off, your phone is (hopefully) tucked away and it's just you and the movie.
Plus big spectacle pieces like Gravity really hit their mark in a theater that is hard/expensive to recreate at home.

I saw Zootopia last night and I can come up with a few good reasons I'll be back - Big screen, big sound, I was forced to put my phone down, so I actually focused on the movie for the first time in god knows how long, and the shared laughter - it's like a genuine laugh track.
It was way more enjoyable than I was expecting.

Fuck that I love theaters. My friends and I drive down to the same one every week or so since it's $5 for a massive screen with personal remote controlled recliners made of leather. On Fridays and Saturdays we can all pile in for a $1 each since I know the people that work there. Movie theaters are the best.
Also you get prime time watching autist try to figure out the menus and faggots that want to look cool on dates.

hmm, the only time I have ever done it was when I Paid to watch Kung Pao Chicken. In the whole movie screen room thingie where you observe the movies, it was me, a construction worker who was killing time, or getting some cold air away from texas heat, and an old fat black woman. 5 minutes into the movie, the construction worker, either snuck out to another movie, or embraced the texas heat instead of Kung fucking cunt. But, since I had committed to this movie, i stuck by for the next 15 minutes. The old black woman, started hysterically laughing at each movement Odirkadirk was making. Initially, i found her laughing more amusing than the movie, but after a while, it started to boil my blood, at how she was finding it funny, while I wanted to stab myself for wasting 15 minutes on this movie. Needless to say, I became that bitch you guys hate who audibly starts complaining about the movie. After 10 minutes to continued bitching, I just sneaked into another shitty but better movie.

I've stopped doing it because I just end up missing 15 + minutes of the movie. In the new Jurassic park I missed the entire trex fight scene. Yeah I sat through the entire god damn film just to miss that.
An entire family of like 10 people were all using their phones. And this theater was packed too, I was surprised no one else did shit.

I had a movie experience with some fuckshit like that too, he was on a date miraculously and trying to impress the girl I guess...though she seemed pretty fuckin embarrassed to be with him.
I was with my wife and her brother, and things started heating up towards the end of the movie with him telling this kid to shut the hell up and shit like that.
Credits start to roll and I've got my fist clenched just in case he was a sucker punching type. Turns out he wasn't, he was a popcorn throwing type. He tossed a fist full back at my bro-in-law and started to leave, and I swear some kind of rage took control of me. I was powerless sandwiched in my seat except for a very large Hawaiian Punch that I left under my chair out of fear I'd have to piss 5 times during the movie if I actually drank it.
I grab it, and I threw it hard as I could at this kid, and it went all fucking over him and his white hoodie.
"Ey! I'm goin to management doggy! Let's go to management doggies!" Yes...he said doggies.
Him and this girl must have booked it really fast cause we didn't see them in any of the hallways leading out until we passed them standing at I guess the customer service desk. We just kept walking.

During star was some douche and his girl stated vaping in front of me.
I go get the manager like 3 times, and he just laughs each time. He sent in dudes with bright orange glowing cones, and each time the guy would stop vaping.

The Good Dinosaur was a fucking atrocious movie. I went with my adult girlfriend and her little (8 year old) sister.
My. Fucking. God. My girlfriend had to drink herself sideways through the movie just to tolerate it. I was fit to start tearing the theatre apart and spent a lot of time on my phone. The kid enjoyed it but damn, it was so hackneyed and worn out. The studio should have done a much better job on the story given that they've produced actually good films in the past.

You're right that bad weed which has been cured improperly does have a kinda fecal skunky spoiled smell.
Good weed smells like a combination of bay leaf, pine sap, lemon rind, and hops, with no hint of skunkyness. When you burn it it tastes burned of course, it'll be gentle on your lungs but really smoke doesn't have a good smell to me. But a nice vapor bag tastes really nice, almost like a spicy popcorn aroma.

Well, it's a matter of personal preference of course. Everyone experiences smells differently. It's only a single note of hops, not the whole aroma of hops.
Have you ever used a volcano or similar thing? It tastes like popcorn with a bit of coffee like roasted aromas. Very pleasant smelling. Even if you don't like raw weed aroma I think you'd like that.

This theater (or this story) makes no sense, some of the seats are reservable and some are not within a single screening room.
That would create conflicts and confusion at every single screening of every movie ever in that room. Someone would sit in the reserved seat, then someone else would come in with the ticket for that seat.

The one I go to operates this way. If you walk in without reserving, they show you a screen that tells you what seats are still available. Then you get assigned to the seats you choose.

For RPX you reserve the seat when you buy the ticket, as in you have to pick a seat. So there's no way a mom (or the other people) would come in and just try to sit anywhere. And even of she was that dumb, a manager would never say "there's plenty of other seats" he would look at her ticket and tell her where her seat is. It's the exact same as getting tickets to a baseball game or something.

Did essentially the same thing as OP but with Toy Story 3 and had similar responses, but nobody left, about 10 minutes into the movie though a small girl, 5 or 6 came over to me and asked as quietly asked "Excuse can me and my mum sit on the comfy seats please?" I told her sure, she ran off with a massive grin and a few seconds later they sat down next to me, little girl shared her popcorn with me, people that had complained tutted the whole time though.

The theater near me just recently switched from first come first serve to assigned seating when they got their fancy new recliners.
It sucks. I wasn't even able to find the row indicators or seat numbers when I went last weekend. Somebody was already sitting in my seat anyway, so when I did find out how to see where I was supposed to go, I had to get a manager to move the fuckers anyway.
This new assigned seating thing is way too confrontational for a beta furfag like me. Just let me sit in line for an hour before the show starts so I can get the best seat like the old days

My friend reserved an entire row for the new Star Wars movie on opening night. Of course some asshole came in with his entire family and tried to say we were sitting in his seats. After waiting for an usher to kick out some asshole in the row in front of me, the guy shows the usher his tickets and the usher was like "These are for tomorrow night." We fucking died laughing as the guy dragged his family out of the theater.
