Gamertag changed without my knowledge

Hi there, my gamertag was Rich man. When I linked it to my email it suddenly changed to EmbeddedVase341! I then went through the gamertag change process, paid $10 and my gamertag is still showing up as EmbeddedVase341! Please advise!
