Cannot create account or login

I am trying to buy minecraft Java and I cannot get past step one. When I tried to make an account the create account button does not work, so i tried doing it on my phone and was able to make an account. When I tried to login to this account on my laptop however, i get a mixed content error, the login button stays grayed out and I am unable to click it. What do I do? Ive been trying for the past two hours to make an account/login so I can buy the game.
