Redeem button not working

I want to claim my free copy of windows 10 minecraft, its not working however.
I know the error about the "Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!" error has been an issue for quite a while but i know its been fixed. 
I've also went to the redeem code section and pressed the green button redeem for minecraft windows 10 edition. However it doesnt work and all it does it pull up the microsoft store and say please input a code without sending one. It doesnt send and email or anything.
