random blocks being thrown out of the inventory

Sometimes when I choose a block in my inventory and then choose another block, the previously selected block will be thrown out of the inventory. Picking it up makes this process repeat again and again until I leave it there for some time and come back and pick it up later. Please help. This only happens when I am on my apple Ipad.
