License Error for restricted Android user

With Minecraft 1.12.0 (as well as earlier versions) on Android 7.0 on Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, a restricted user gets "License Error - We're having trouble verifying that you own Minecraft on this device" Error when opening Minecraft.

Minecraft can be played as the non-restricted user account under which the app was purchased in the Play store, but of course this account belongs to the parent and it's the child that wants to play.

As per similar bug reports, I can report that the app was paid with the same Google (email) account that was logged into the Play store when the app was purchased.
