Forge 1.12 installation bug

So I installed Forge 1.14.4 for my minecraft, and it worked, but there were a lot of mods for 1.12 that I wanted, so I decided to delete 1.14.4 forge and install 1.12 forge. It worked, and I played for a while, but when I went to delete the 1.12 installation, it just says I can edit or duplicate it. I tried going into the files to delete it but then it just gave me an error. I have deleted java, restarted computer, and then reinstalled java, but it keeps giving me the same problem. I cannot delete any installation files, but I can play them. I mean it's not a HUGE problem, I would just like if anyone could help me. It's not just the forge 1.12 file that won't delete.
