Mistakable recommendation of reducing JVM memory at the Minecraft Support Center

The Minecraft Support Center http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/928783-minecraft-has-run-out-of-memory recommends with the headline "Minecraft has run out of memory" to reduce the max memory for the JVM to 512m.
Meant is to reduce the memory for crappy computers with 1G-2G memory installed, but users mistake that recommendation whenever getting a crash "Out of memory" (for whatever reasons) when using the vanilla launcher (which is assiging 1G to the JVM) and trying to apply this with even worse results.

Since I don't know better where to put this information, I've created this ticket (where would be a better place or whom to contact how ?)
