Boats and carts vanish

Boats and minecarts tend to vanish when exited. It happens with boats more. Out of 10 times getting out of a boat, it vanishes 6 times and I have to log out and log back on for it to reappear or leave the chunk (load into the nether, mostly) for it to return.
