Migration caused me to lose Realms access

I just installed linux on my Mac, got minecraft up and was told to migrate. After migration, I could no longer access Realms. What gives? Hovering over "Realms" button popup says "Multiplayer is disabled. Please check your Microsoft account settings." I cannot find anything like this in search, it ought to be at least on the FAQ or easy to find (assuming other people are having this problem). Please help. My daughter (I'm typing this for her) needs her Realms fix!

I still don't have a workaround for this, I tried removing her from the family group, we tried getting her an XBox account, but to no avail.
