Loading screen stuck on "Loading resource packs"

I noticed when breaking blocks the break animation was not playing.  Decided to logout and back in.  Currently getting stuck on "Loading resource packs" and then it says "Unable to connect to the work.  Please check your connection to the internet and try again."  My internet is working and stable as verified by working from home with no issues.
