Structure chests not spawning when playing in peaceful

Hi, it's me KittyWhiskers09 (not 9 but 8 for mc username), and there is a GIANT problem, when I play Minecraft with my friend we first he'd difficulty on hard. Then,once we found a good spot for our base (right on top of a mineshaft and by a village so it loaded in hard mode).When we turned it to easy and went to the nether once we found a fortress (big 100x100blocks) we searched for loot but found NO CHESTS!!!!!!!!! So I did some testing and when I downloaded a copy to look for the end portal(yes it's cheesy but it's good cheese) in easy mode and there was a chest I searched it had a iron sword and redstone  but when I loaded it on the realm (on peaceful) THERE WAS NO CHESTS EVEN IN THE LIBRARY and If u don't believe me u try.
