Nametagged zombified piglins despawning (within 16 chunk render distance)

I have constructed a gold farm that requires zombified piglins to 'aggro' the other zombified piglins to the player. However, the zombified piglins, despite being able to see them from the players AFK spot are disappearing. I literally saw one of the disappear in front of me. I am on version 1.17, and there were 7 other players on the server at the time this happened
