Realms no longer work

Before updating to 1.17.10 I was able to join any realm with no issue at all, now after the update I am unable to join. Usually next to the realm name there is a green circle but since the update this circle is now blank and I am unable to join no matter how many times I select it. I have seen others talk about this issue so I am led to believe that there is an issue with the latest update. I have asked the owner of the realm to see if there is any issue that side and they are able to join with no issues at all. I usually play on Nintendo switch but I haven't tried it on an iPad and have the same issue
