Expiration warning, instructions incomprehensible

.I signed up for free trial, expecting it to roll to paying. I'm now getting warned that my subscription will expire. I click the button to extend. I log in with my mojang account. I explicitly choose to pay for subscription, even though I already gave my credit card to for the free trial, with expectation it would start charging me.

Now I'm getting a message telling me to initialize my Realm

... and I'm still getting a warning that my Realm will expire.

 I just want to pay and play, without disruption. My little nephews are playing with us and it will cause a lot of annoyance to shut it down, reload and start over. I've now been trying to figure this out for an HOUR. Why is this so hard. I'm trying to give you my money.
