Blcoks appear invisible upon breaking/mining and render distance stuck at 10 chunks

When i go to mine/break a block for example dirt or stone it drops invisible and when i collect it the sound does not play signifying i have collected a block/item. and my render distance on realms is stuck to 10 chunks some times less.
