we could not connect to realms right now, we will try again later windows 10

i tried to join my friends realm on windows 10 edition, but it would come up "we could not connect to realms right now, we will try again soon". i can join realms on minecraft  pocket edition perfectly but not on windows 10. ive allowed everything on the xbox privacy settings, i dont know what else to do? please help
