PlayStation can’t download world from realm.

Steps to Re-Produce

1. Start Minecraft.
2. Click on Play.
3. Click on the pencil to edit your realm.
4. From under Realm > Game, choose Download World.

Expected Outcome

1. After the Initializing Download prompt, download starts with the title saying Downloading World.
2. Downlod completes.

Actual Outcome

1. After the Initializing Download prompt, download starts with the title saying Downloading World.
2. Download never completes. It goes up to 656.0MB for a world with a size of 709.8MB within 5 minutes, then stays there for hours with no progress. See attachment (download-hangs.jpg) for details.

Affected Versions & Platforms

• PlayStation 5 (System Software: 20.02-2.30.00.05-00.00.00.0.1)
• Minecraft (v1.16.201)

Actions Taken

• Delete Minecraft, and re-install.
• Delete all saves & worlds, then retry.
• Ensure there’s more than enough storage on the PlayStation 5.
• Close realm, and try downloading while closed.
• Re-open realm, and try downloading again.
• Try downloading from a different internet connection.
• Try downloading a backup instead.
• Try contacting support.

Workaround

• Download the world from a Windows 10 PC.
