Strange Interactions When Leaving & Rejoining Multiple Realms
I'm not sure if it is appropriate to list this bug as private, but I am aware it can be used in exploitative ways, and personal information may be revealed on accident due to the use of Discord to acquire footage from a second perspective. Could not find this bug reported elsewhere, so I apologize if this is a duplicate.
Video is attached that shows the bug in full detail (as much as I could find out), but I will list a step-by-step process to recreate it.
- Have two realm worlds that you can join. In this example, one of them is a survival world, and the other is a creative build world. Realm 1 is Creative, and Realm 2 is survival.
- Join one realm, let it load for a second or less, and then immediately press the Escape button and join a different realm. If done correctly, Minecraft will attempt to log you into both realms, resulting in this bug. The sky will be flickering between both realms and chunks won't load, creating the odd effect where the sky keeps turning day/night on my perspective and where none of the blocks I walk on are visible.
The most interesting result occurs when I join Realm 2, the survival one, then join Realm 1, the creative one. It will let me have a creative inventory and allow me to fly in survival mode
, but any item in my inventory that comes from Creative will not appear as real to other players.
Video of this bug in action (if it is too compressed by YouTube to be intelligible, I can directly post the mp4 file elsewhere): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlBfqG_dnBY&feature=youtu.be
