"You are not eligible to start a Realms Trial." When i attempt to start a realms trial for Java

When I attempt to claim my free trial of Realms which I should be eligible for, a message highlighted by an orange block appears saying "You are not eligible to start a Realms Trial." I have checked online and cannot seem to find anything related to the issue, aside from one post 7 months ago that went unanswered. In Minecraft itself I have the diamond on the realms tab, indicating that I can claim a free trial, however this does not seem to be the case when I actually attempt to claim said trial. I attempted to claim it already but before I agreed to the $0.01 payment to make sure my bank details were legitimate, my session timed out and when I attempted to try again, all this happened, I have an inkling it may be causing the issue.
