Can't join friends minecraft realm

I received an invitation to my friends Minecraft realm and accepted it, but I can't seem to join it. Every time I try, I just stay at the "Connecting to Realm" screen. No matter how long I wait, I can't connect, my Wi-Fi is good, and I've tried a lot of methods to try and get it to work but it still won't work.
