minecraft realms wont work for some ps4 systems on bedrock

I (ps4) see realms and even started a 30 day trial and created one, but my friend can't see any trace of realms on his ps4. We did a screenshare and nothing, its like it's not "downloaded" to his ps4 but his system and minecraft version is the same as mine. only some of my friends have the ability to see realms on minecraft. even in the in game store when trying to click on the realms plus it wont load like it doesnt exist for him.
