Minecraft freezes and doesnt unfreeze. Restarting it or my pc doesnt help. I can still press the windows short cut key and everything is fine, but then it closes out of minecraft and I cant get back in until I close it myself

I open minecraft, I join my boifriend in realms and the game works for a good solid 5-10 minutes. Then it just freezes. I cant click anything or move the character around, even after wating almost an hour. I can press the windows shortcut key and it will have everything pop up and I can open other apps but then I cant get back into minecraft without having to exit the tab.
