Crimson Hyphae not functioning

I am building a large tree out of "Crimson Hyphae" there seems to be a problem where whenever I drop it or try to place it instantly breaks or goes back into my inventory. Every other block seems to function properly. I would attach an image but it is instant so i'm not sure how to show you.
