Realms (500) Could not connect to Realms: Read timed out

I have a great connection to the Internet (speed checks all show 90+).  Ping to 8.8.8.8 is <30 ms.  I've been using Realms for many months with the same computer and Internet connection.  Suddenly I got dropped from the game after several minutes and cannot reconnect.
