wont let me connect

ive been playing on a realm with one of my friends for a few days on 1.16.1 i wake up today to play and click minecraft realms and it says "your client is outdated and not compatible with realms please update to the most recent version of minecraft" but my friend it currently on the realm with 1.16.1 and its my realm that i pay for so i switch to 1.16.2 and it lets me open realms but it wont let me connect it just sits on me loading in forever and never lets me in it lets my friend play on my realm with 1.16.1 but i cant please help me
