Unable to remove an add-on and going into world

After I put in an add-on that didn’t really work for the realm, I couldn’t remove it in settings not any other add-on. None of my other friend couldn’t join in after this occurred. I tried backing up world and copying it to replace the realm, but it didn’t work.
