Realms isnt working

When I try to log onto my friends realm world it just stays on the "Connecting to the realm..." page, this issue has been going on for multiple days, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game I've done everything I can find that might be the issue and nothing has worked. I can still play singleplayer and multiplayer servers but I just cant play realms. Also I know it's not an issue with my friends realm because I'm in some other realms and when I try to access those it does the same thing.
