i cant access a realm adventure map

Basically, whenever i go to realms and press configure realm i click reset world ad then i choose adventure so i can play an adventure map with my friends when i join it it says i need a custom resource pack to play and i press yes and it says failed to download resource pack and if i press no it just kicks me out, however whenever my friends join, they join perfectly with no problems
