Cannot extend expired realm subscription

Everytime I try to renew the realms subscription on my realm I've used for awhile for me and my friends, it doesn't add any time onto the realm's subscription duration and instead opens up new subscriptions that don't appear on my game but appear on my microsoft subscriptions tab.
Just wanna get the world working for me and my friends again and buying an entirely new subscription seems like a pain to me.
