Lost ~1 hour of progress because realm did not back up

This has happened once before but I thought it was because the servers were hit hard when dungeons came out. However last night I was working in my realm until about 9pm CST in the USA, but today when I logged in I was in a completely different location than I was when I left last night, and I realized that the hour or so of work towards the end of my night was not saved. So I lost everything that happened before the last server backup. I haven't found a way to make the server save from my side, so any help with this issue would be appreciated. I might have to cancel my realm if this keeps happening because I can't keep losing a large amount of progress during random times.
