Realms Maintenance Didn't Save My Progress

I was on a realm and a message in the chat said 5 minutes until Realms is closed for maintenance. I continue until I got the one minute warning and began rapping up. I clicked to exit and save, __ but it kicked me out. I jumped back in to see if it saved but it hadn't. No one else was on the realm at the time.
