Won't let me into my friends real. Just says "loading resource packs"

My minecraft won't let me onto a realm it just says "loading resource packs" then loads forever or if I do get into the game it just crashes instantly. I've uninstalled it, moved it from external to internal and back and tried to look everywhere for a solution.
