Progress not saving

My Friends and I have a realm and we are having issues with the server not saving progress we make. Earlier today after updating the game we played for maybe 2 hours and then got off. When I returned I was exactly where I was when I initially logged on, and all blocks that had been broken or placed were now reverted back. we have had a realm for over a year now and have never had a saving issue.
