I keep getting a crash when trying to access the realms page

I've been unable to access my realms now for about 3 days due to the io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedconnectexception connection timed out bug that seems to be happening to a lot of people. I had some hopes when I updated to 1.16, but now whenever I click on the minecraft realms button I get an empty loading screen for a while and the entire game crashes and the launcher resets, showing me a bug report.
