Stuck on Loading Resource Packs

I just decided to try realms out.  And I can't log into the realm from my phone.  It gets stuck on Loading Resource Packs.  My husband (a member) is able to log in fine from his phone - but I can't from mine.  We have done the following to try to test the issue:

Restarted Minecraft

Restarted the phone

Signed out of my account, signed back in

Signed into my husband's account on my phone (it still got stuck on loading resource packs when trying to enter the realm.)

I seem to be able to enter the realm from Minecraft on the Fire TV on my account.  But not on my phone, which is the primary device with which I play Minecraft.

I'm running IOS 13.5.1, and Minecraft is up to date also.
