SWITCHING_SLOT (realm)

I am in a realm with 5 of my friends, 6 including me, and starting this morning (Tuesday, June 9) we were not able to access it. after a while, the screen showed that it was unable to connect and showed the 'SWITCHING_SLOT' error. Why is this happening? especially now, since I have four more days of my realm left and it has been working fine the entire time. this was not a free trial, I paid for this with my own money as well. we've worked hard on this realm and i just wonder why this is happening.
